Our teams thrive in high-stakes environments where quality control and uptime matters, schedules are compressed, and coordination is everything.\nJoin us and be part of a team where your voice matters, your work makes an impact, and your growth is a shared priority.\nPosition Title: Building Automation Lead Field Technician\nPosition Location: Multiple opportunities available in the following project locations:\nAtlanta, GA and IAD (priority locations) \nDenver, CO \nTexas \nNortheast USA \nCentral USA \nJOB SUMMARY\nThe Building Automation Lead Field Technician leads our BAS field teams and activities for building automation system projects including technical support, leadership to plan, schedule and execute installation, startup and testing, commissioning and closeout in mission critical / data center verticals.\nThe Building Automation Lead Field Technician works closely with project managers, systems engineers, software engineers, construction contractors, equipment vendors and client staff to ensure proper operation and acceptance of the automation and software solutions.\nThe Building Automation Lead Field Technician will receive limited direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or assignments. Will assist project leadership on automation projects of complex scope. Will work independently or under limited supervision.\nThis person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nInstallation and Installation Coordination of BAS / HVAC Controls Systems (30%)\nDirect and monitor subcontractors (onsite and offsite) including scheduling, resource management and coordination of construction and start-up services as needed. Construction trades generally include various electrical, mechanical and equipment suppliers.\nInstall and wire BAS controllers and field devices including low voltage cable terminations \nPlan site activities for your team including organize job site materials, logistics, inventory, tools storage and security/access \nProvide technical information and safety guidance for activities on site \nLead installation teams on daily and weekly meetings \nSupport the development and execution of additional services through change orders \nCutover panels and systems in retrofit projects \nDevelop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for site activities \nProvide input to project team on developing RFIs \nStartup, Commissioning and Closeout of BAS / HVAC Controls Systems (40%)\nAssist software lead with pre-functional and functional testing \nExecute troubleshooting of BAS systems including corrective actions \nParticipate in commissioning efforts with external stakeholders \nAnalyze system operation, work with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work \nPerform QA / QC of BAS and integrated systems using BAS software tools \nProvide installation inspections and other closeout duties to ensure customer acceptance \nProvide markups for shop drawings to document asbuilt conditions \nReporting and Communication (20%)\nProject communication and reporting including daily site updates, daily site safety reporting and progress reports \nDocument and track issues and out of scope efforts \nCommunicate regularly with subcontractors, project managers, clients and commissioning agents on project progress \nEngineering Support and Business Development (10%)\nProvide input to project teams on estimating and takeoffs for proposals \nAttend project bid walks \nAttend engineering surveys for retrofit projects \nAttend BAS audits and complete related reports and communication \nCompletion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget\nPerforms Other Related Duties as Assigned\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS (ADVANCED LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING)\nKnowledge of HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, and materials \nKnowledge of BAS platforms Distech Controls and Tridium Niagara \nKnowledge of controls wiring, relay logic, and associated materials \nSkilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management \nSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail \nAbility to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation \nAbility to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace \nAbility to interpret AE construction drawings, BAS shop drawings, manufacturers wiring diagrams, standards documentation, submittals and product data sheets \nAbility to follow company and site safety requirements \nAbility to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence \nAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information) \nAbility to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact \nAbility to work under pressure and meet close deadlines \nAbility to effectively plan and delegate the work of others \nAbility to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as required \nAbility to maintain jobsite and keep it organized \nOrganizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously \nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe following physical demands must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of\nthis job.
