The Lead Field Technician - Critical Infrastructure coordinates daily activities across trades, directs field crews and subcontractors within their scope, and ensures work is executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements.\nThe Lead Field Technician - Critical Infrastructure serves as a key extension of the Site Superintendent, translating execution plans into daily field action. This role requires strong technical judgment, field presence, and the ability to resolve issues in real time while escalating risks, conflicts, and scope gaps appropriately.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nField Execution & Trade Coordination (40%)\nLead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams.\nDirect STC field labor and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners within assigned areas.\nCoordinate daily activities across trades including electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, networking, and commissioning.\nParticipate in daily coordination meetings, site walks, and trade alignment discussions.\nResolve routine field conflicts and sequencing issues; escalate complex issues to the Site Superintendent.\nSchedule & Quality Control (25%)\nDevelop and maintain 2-3 week look-ahead schedules aligned with the GC master schedule.\nTrack daily progress, manpower loading, and productivity within assigned scopes.\nEnforce QA/QC requirements and verify work complies with drawings, specifications, and approved plans.\nIdentify constructability issues, installation deficiencies, and scope gaps; document and elevate with recommendations.\nSafety & Risk Management (20%)\nEnforce OSHA, NFPA 70E, STC safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements within assigned areas.\nLead daily toolbox talks and support weekly safety stand-downs.\nVerify compliance with JHAs, pre-task plans, energized work permits, and high-risk activity controls.\nStop work for unsafe conditions within assigned scopes and immediately notify the Site Superintendent.\nCoordination, Reporting & Communication (15%)\nProvide clear daily updates to the Site Superintendent on progress, risks, and constraints.\nSupport preparation of field reports, look-aheads, and site documentation.\nInterface professionally with GC supervision, inspectors, and trade leads as directed.\nSupport lessons learned capture and continuous improvement of field execution practices.\nCompletion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget\nPerforms Other Related Duties as Assigned\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS\nMinimum 6-8 years of experience in field execution roles within mission-critical, hyperscale, or complex MEP construction environments\nDemonstrated experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors\nStrong understanding of construction sequencing, safety practices, and quality control\nExperience working under a Site Superintendent or Project Superintendent in large-scale projects\nAbility to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and schedules\nWorking knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and high-risk construction activities\nStrong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across trades and escalate effectively\nProficiency with construction field tools and platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, Autodesk Build, or similar)\nAbility to operate independently within defined scope while aligning with site leadership direction\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe following physical demands must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
