Our teams thrive in high-stakes environments where quality control and uptime matters, schedules are compressed, and coordination is everything.\nJoin us and be part of a team where your voice matters, your work makes an impact, and your growth is a shared priority.\nPosition Title: Systems Engineer III - Design\nPosition Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States\nJOB SUMMARY\nThe Systems Engineer III - Design provides technical support to plan, schedule and execute design document deliverables for building automation system (BAS), electrical power monitoring system (EPMS), and software integration design projects in hyperscale data center and similar mission critical / technology sectors. \n\nThis Systems Engineer III - Design will work with internal and external MEP/FP engineers, ICT engineers, equipment representatives, equipment vendors, BIM / Revit / AutoCAD production resources and client staff to ensure proper design and acceptance of Building Automation Systems. \n\nThe Systems Engineer III - Design will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. May work independently or under immediate supervision. May serve as lead on routine projects of limited scope.\n\nThis person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives. \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nAssist in Production of Building Automation Systems Engineering Documents (70%)\nSupport designs for DDC and PLC based building automation and electrical power monitoring systems for one or more projects \nSupport designs for controls network / system architecture including IT / OT requirements \nSupport selection of instrumentation, sensors, actuators, valves and other field devices \nSupport creation of and review project book and sheet specifications \nSupport creation of and review sequence of operations \nSupport creation of and review system diagrams and points / alarm lists \nWork with client IT departments to ensure safe and secure systems to meet best practices \nUtilize Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aids \nConstruction Related Process, Deliverables and Submissions (20%)\nParticipate in planning and execution of Construction Administration (CA) phase activities remote and on site \nParticipate in building automation focused design reviews and page turns \nParticipate in internal and external quality control and peer reviews \nReview and respond to RFIs \nReview shop drawings and submittals \nReview and complete punch lists and project close out documents \nReporting and Communication (10%)\nContribute to project communication and reporting \nPrepare development of project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders \nManage personal hours using company tools \nTechnology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency\nLeverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.\nIdentify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.\nAdapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.\nCompletion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget\nPerforms Other Related Duties as Assigned\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING)\nKnowledge of designing building automation / electrical power monitoring systems \nKnowledge of IoT or smart building solutions \nKnowledge of Revit \nKnowledge of Networking including Addressing, VLANs, LANs, Switches and Routers \nKnowledge of opensource protocols (BACnet, Modbus and SNMP) \nKnowledge of DDC systems including Distech, Honeywell, and Tridium Niagara \nKnowledge of PLC systems including Schneider Electric and Allen Bradley \nSkilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management \nSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail \nAbility to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation \nAbility to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace \nAbility to follow company and site safety requirements \nAbility to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence \nAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information) \nAbility to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision \nAbility to work under pressure and meet close deadlines \nOrganizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously \nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe following physical demands must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
