workmanship meet project quality requirements.\nConduct site inspections, quality audits, and hold-point inspections based on the approved ITP.\nWitness material testing and ensure proper documentation of test results.\nRaise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and monitor corrective actions where required.\nEnsure all engineering changes are properly documented and approved before implementation.\nCommunicate and coordinate with the Engineering office in Headquarters for any site issue that require HQ’s attention.\nAct as Lead for other disciplines at site office.\nConstruction Monitoring and Coordination\nMonitor daily site activities and construction progress including coordination with other disciplines.\nCoordinate with EPCC, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to resolve technical and construction issues.\nReview the job method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), Material Specifications and construction procedures.\nIdentify potential delays, construction risks, and quality concerns and make recommendations for corrective actions.\nSupport construction planning and sequencing to ensure efficient execution of works.\nProgress Monitoring and Reporting\nTrack construction progress against approved schedules and project milestones.\nMeasure and verify completed works for progress assessment.\nPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.\nMaintain records of site activities, inspections, test results, and construction issues.\nProvide progress updates including:\n1) Percentage completion\n2) Key accomplishments\n3) Planned activities\n4) Critical issues and risks\n5) Delay analysis\n6) Corrective action recommendations\n7) Participate in project review and progress meetings.\n8) Maintain a comprehensive log of all items that are eligible for reimbursement or claim\nTechnical Review\nAssisting in resolving the design clarifications and site technical queries.\nCommunicate with HQ Design Office for any matters related to design\nSupport commissioning readiness by confirming completion and compliance of civil works.\nHealth, Safety, and Environmental Compliance\nEnsure civil construction activities are performed in compliance with site HSE requirements.\nActively participate in the preparation of Job Method Statement and Job Hazard Analysis discussions with the EPCC and HSSE team.\nPromote safe working practices and participate in safety inspections.\nReport unsafe conditions and support implementation of corrective actions.\nEnsure environmental requirements are records\nCoordinate with other disciplines at site\nQualifications and Requirements:\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.\nRegistered Engineer with The Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).\nIdeal to have-CIDB construction supervision certification or equivalent.\nLanguages: English and Bahasa Melayu, ability to communicate in Mandarin would be an extra advantage.\nExperience\nMinimum 8-10 years of experience in industrial civil and structural construction projects focus on construction supervision & monitoring. Previous experience in gas engines, gas turbines, or thermal power plant EPCC projects site construction is an added advantage.\nExperience in the construction and installation of the foundations and structures for heavy industrial equipment is preferred.\nStrong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices\nFamiliarity with earthworks, steel structural works, buildings, reinforced concrete structures, piling and foundation works, sewerage, road and drainage, and other infrastructure works.\nAbility to interpret civil engineering drawings and technical specifications.\nKnowledge of civil construction quality control procedures and inspection requirements.\nUnderstanding of relevant international and local codes and standards.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications\nExperience with project scheduling and reporting tools.\nCandidates who’s currently residing and working in Sabah, or have prior working experience in Sabah will have added advantage.\nBehavior and Character\nWilling and able to work under harsh environment, pressure and extended hours to meet deadlines.\nCan do attitude and willing to go beyond the boundaries to support the project and organizational needs.\nLocation: Sabah\nAt Surbana Jurong, we put talent, hard work, teamwork and a fun workplace together to approach problems and solve them creatively and collaboratively.
