Contract Administration\nAssist in the preparation, review, and administration of engineering and construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, bespoke).\nEnsure all contractual requirements are implemented in accordance with company and project procedures.\nMaintain contract documentation, registers, variation logs, and correspondence records.\n2. Cost & Commercial Support\nAssist in preparing interim payment applications, valuations, and final accounts.\nMonitor contract budgets, track expenditures, and support cost control processes.\nAssist in the preparation and evaluation of variation orders, claims, and extensions of time (EOT).\n3. Procurement and Subcontracts\nSupport procurement activities, including the preparation of tender documentation for subcontractors and suppliers.\nReview and evaluate bids and participate in negotiations when required.\nAdminister subcontracts, including scope changes, payments, and close-outs.\n4. Coordination and Communication\nLiaise with project engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, and the legal team on contract-related matters.\nCoordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors regarding contract compliance and change management.\nSupport progress reporting and attend commercial/contractual meetings.\n5. Risk and Compliance\nIdentify and escalate contractual risks, and assist in implementing mitigation strategies.\nEnsure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and contract terms.\nAssist in audits and ensure proper documentation for internal and external reviews.\nQualifications and Skills\nBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.\nAt least 3-5 years' experience in contract administration, preferably in coastal, marine, or infrastructure projects.\nFamiliarity with FIDIC or similar standard forms of contract.\nStrong understanding of project cost control, variation management, and basic contract law.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/contract management systems is an advantage.\nExcellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.\n About SMEC\nFor 75 years, SMEC has built a reputation as a trusted partner on major transport and energy infrastructure projects around the world.
