We listen and understand the specific needs of our clients and deliver a complete value chain of services to provide sustainable solutions across major infrastructure projects worldwide.\nThe Role\nWe’re looking for a Senior Drafter to join our Roads & Highways team in either Newcastle or Sydney, supporting the delivery of complex transport infrastructure projects across Australia.\nIn this role, you will take responsibility for producing high-quality drafting and design documentation, ensuring alignment with SMEC and client standards while contributing to efficient, coordinated project delivery.\nYou’ll work closely with engineers, designers and multidisciplinary project teams in a collaborative, digitally enabled environment, bringing strong technical drafting capability and experience to the delivery of accurate, coordinated and buildable design outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for roads and highways infrastructure projects\nDeliver detailed design and construction-level documentation in line with project requirements\nApply SMEC drafting standards, QA processes and client specifications\nUndertake checking and review of drawings and documentation to ensure quality and accuracy\nManage drawing and model outputs across project timelines and milestones\nCoordinate closely with engineers, designers and multidisciplinary teams to support integrated design delivery\nMaintain and manage project data within Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise or similar\nProvide technical drafting guidance and support to less experienced team members\nContribute to continuous improvement in digital delivery, drafting standards and workflows\nAbout You\nYou’re an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Drafter with a strong background in roads, highways or broader transport infrastructure projects.\nYou’re comfortable working with multidisciplinary design teams and can take ownership of drafting outputs through detailed design and delivery.\nYou bring:\n8-12 years of demonstrated drafting experience within roads, highways, civil or transport infrastructure projects\nStrong proficiency in relevant drafting and design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation\nDemonstrated experience delivering detailed design and construction documentation\nStrong understanding of drafting standards, QA processes and model coordination\nExperience checking drawings and supporting the quality of drafting outputs\nAbility to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver to project deadlines\nStrong communication skills and a collaborative approach\nAbility to provide guidance and technical support to less experienced drafters\nExperience working within digital delivery environments and multidisciplinary transport projects will be highly regarded.\nDon't meet every requirement?
