Overall accountabilities are defined in this section.\nWe are seeking an IT Enterprise Application Architect with expertise in Application Architecture to join our dynamic team. As an Application Architect, you will be responsible for designing, governing and maintaining the application strategy for Smithfield’s application portfolio. You will align software solutions with business goals, design secure, scalable architecture and ensure technological standards are followed across the enterprise. This role provides architectural leadership across the application portfolio, drives application rationalization, plans for reduction of technical debt, and serves as a strategic advisor on platform and solution decisions across the enterprise.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO:\nThe below statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. May perform other duties as assigned.\nStrategy and Vision: Develop and maintain comprehensive application architecture roadmaps that align with business strategies and organizational priorities.\n\nArchitecture Design & Governance: Define standards, design principles, and best practices for application design, development, and integration.\n\nSystem Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor platforms, and software solutions for enterprise adoption. Provide architectural guidance on modernization initiatives and future-state application capabilities.\n\nIntegration and Scalability: Lead the integration of complex systems, ensuring applications are scalable, secure, performant and interoperable.\n\nPortfolio Rationalization and Road mapping: Identify overlapping or redundant applications and create rationalization recommendations and roadmaps. Support leadership with Build vs Buy analysis and application lifecycle decisions.\n\nGovernance and Compliance: Review application designs for adherence to enterprise standards and security protocols.\n\nCollaboration: Work with business leaders, Infrastructure architects, Security architects and IT teams to ensure alignment of technology with business initiatives\n\nWHAT WE’RE SEEKING:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.\nBachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited 4-year college or university with 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.\n\nExtensive experience in application development, integration, and architectural design.\n\nDeep understanding of cloud technologies, data architecture and software development lifecycles (SDLC).\n\nExpertise in Application Portfolio Optimization.\n\nKnowledge of orchestration tools to automate processes and services.\n\nAbility to analyze, translate, and define business requirements into technical solutions.\n\nSelf-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision.\n\nTOGAF certification is a plus.\n\nKnowledge of SAP or JD Edwards ERP is a plus.\n\nThe expected pay range for this position is $115,000 - $150,000 annually.\n\nSmithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate’s qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.
