Overall accountabilities are defined in this section.\nAs a Logistics Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting logistics operations through data-driven insights and performance analysis. This position is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive reports, analyzing transportation and distribution metrics, and identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Whether supporting Supply & Demand Planning, product transportation, or Direct Store Delivery, the Logistics Analyst helps optimize our supply chain by turning data into actionable strategies.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO:\nThe below statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. May perform other duties as assigned.\nData Analysis & Reporting: Perform complex analyses and generate reports to monitor logistics performance and support strategic planning.\n\nKPI Tracking & Forecasting: Analyze weekly and monthly key performance indicators and forecasts to evaluate operational efficiency.\n\nCost Analysis: Interpret logistics cost components and provide insights to support cost control and optimization efforts.\n\nTMS & Carrier Data Management: Maintain and update carrier information in the Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure accurate costing and freight payment.\n\nCarrier Setup & Auditing: Manage new carrier setups and audit accessorial charges to ensure billing accuracy and compliance.\n\nTransportation Performance Monitoring: Track transportation performance against carrier awards and cost targets to ensure alignment with strategic goals.\n\nOptimization Modeling: Apply mathematical models and optimization techniques to design efficient logistics networks and support executive decision-making.\n\nFreight Settlement Accuracy: Review and correct freight settlement documents to ensure proper accruals and financial accuracy.\n\nCost Estimation for New Business: Collaborate with business leaders to estimate distribution costs for new opportunities, including freight and distribution center expenses.\n\nCommunication & Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with senior leaders, vendors, and customers to support logistics initiatives and resolve issues.\n\nWHAT WE’RE SEEKING:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.\nEducation & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Customer Service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nTechnical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.\n\nAnalytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to interpret data and drive decisions.\n\nCommunication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.\n\nOrganizational Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented with a focus on delivering quality work.\n\nCustomer Service: Demonstrated excellence in customer service and responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.\n\nAdaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.\n\nTeam Collaboration: Proven ability to work well with others and contribute to a collaborative team culture.\n\nProfessionalism: Respectful, approachable, and team-oriented demeanor that fosters strong working relationships.\n\nPositive Work Environment: Commitment to building and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace.\n\nOTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:\nAdvanced knowledge and experience with Sequel Data Base is preferred.\n\nRelevant work experience in a Shipping or Carrier Company is preferred.\n\nThe expected pay range for this position is $55,000 - $82,500 annually.\n\nSmithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate’s qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.
