To effectively support business operations, candidates must reside within 60 miles of a designated company location and be able to travel to assigned facilities as needed. May perform other duties as assigned.\nOperational Support & Optimization: You'll identify and implement solutions to critical operational issues of Facility Utilities Systems. Assess and optimize operations of Utilities Systems to support facilities’ teams. You'll also work with facilities in developing short and long-term facility maintenance plans. Responsible for developing and providing full risk analysis of facilities. You'll support all US Fresh and Packaged Meat Facilities and associated teams as required. Conducts audits on project performance and sustainability initiatives\nProject Development & Engineering Design: Engage external professional engineering resources to ensure quality and effective engineering design for project development. Engage professional refrigeration engineering resources during the design and development of projects. Determines scope of work, prepares requests for proposals, and evaluates proposals. Assist with the planning and budgeting process for various engineering improvement projects, meeting project expectations and time requirements\n Leadership & Team Development: You will work closely with other engineering team members to manage (Lead) and develop their skills and knowledge. Mentor entry level engineers as needed.\nManage the “Excellence in Engineering” efforts for engagement and compliance\nDocumentation & Reporting: Develop Engineering Reports and Matrix Data Base for Facility Infrastructure Assets\nPeople Management: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.\nWHAT WE'RE SEEKING:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. \nBachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.\nKnowledge of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration.\nKnowledge of Electrical Power Distribution.\nStrong reading, math, writing, analytical skills.\nPossess a theoretical understanding of Facility Utilities Systems and can apply that knowledge to the roles and responsibilities of the position.\nAbility to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.\nProficient in AutoCAD drawing skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office suite.\nEnergized by collaboration through travel to other locations. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.\nNoise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.\nOccasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\nSpecific vision includes close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.\nMust be able to work at elevated heights.\nFrequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.\n\nThe expected pay range for this position is $105,000 - $140,000 annually.\n\nSmithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate’s qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.
