At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.\nThe Systems Engineering Intern experience will consist of a robust induction plan followed by a 3-month program in our Research & Development organization within the Sports Medicine Franchise at S+N. The position will be based in Andover, Massachusetts with some remote work flexibility.\nThis role reports into the Systems Verification Engineering team and focuses on advancing the manual and automated testing practice at Smith + Nephew. The individual in this role will work closely with the rest of the team to apply mature evaluation and integration to the development of novel medical devices related to Sports Medicine.\nWhat will you be doing?\nWork closely with test engineers and verification manager to complete specifically identified projects tasks including manual and automation test generation\nPresent project conclusion to senior leadership\nSupport ad-hoc exploratory testing and pre-planned integration dry-run testing for systems and software pieces and report defects\nGenerate, maintain, revise, and execute test protocols, and generating reports\nPlanned Start Date: May 2027\nProgram Length: 12 weeks\nLocation: Andover, MA\nWhat will you need to be successful?\nEducation:\nBe currently enrolled in an undergraduate Engineering program (junior or higher level) in Electrical & Computer, Biomedical, and/or related Engineering field at an accredited university.\nMajor GPA of 3.40 or above preferred).\nExperience:\n Previous internships or Co-ops preferred\nCompetencies:\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.\nHigh learning agility -Strong written and verbal communication and technical writing skills\nAnalytical approach to problem solving.\nExperience in the medical device field or other regulated field -Design exposure to embedded software development\nBasic understanding and experience with formal documentation processes\nKnowledge of statistical methods and tools (Minitab, JMP, R, etc.)\nMicrosoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint experience\nCompleted Circuits Design and Computer Engineering basic classes\nPracticed using MATLAB or LabVIEW in engineering or science courses\nAbility to assess technical issues and develop solutions utilizing an analytical approach to problem solving\nYou.
