At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.\nThe Inspector 1 shall be responsible for performing basic visual/dimensional/functional inspections of products manufactured/assembled in-house, determining whether or not the product meets specifications, and documenting these decisions. The Roving Inspector 1 shall also be responsible for executing inspections on operators performing a variety of processes on the operations floor.\nWhat will you be doing?\nInspect assembled product, semi-finished product & finished product per inspection procedures/drawings and to print specifications.\nUtilize attribute and variable measuring equipment/gauges as well as mating parts to determine as found/as left conditions of product.\nSupport the qualification/validation processes for company product.\nReview corresponding product documentation to verify acceptability per specification and QSR requirements.\nSupport department and organizational objectives.\nRepresent and promote quality standards.\nInspect operators performing a variety of processes on operations floor.\nPerform other quality functions as required.\nTrain other inspectors on required tasks.\nUnderstanding of good manufacturing practices.\nUnderstanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and blueprint interpretation.\nMust be capable of detecting nonconformities while performing repetitive inspections.\nAbility to make product judgments against applicable specifications.\nOperate automated inspection equipment ex: vision systems, digital comparators.\nUtilize attribute and variable measuring equipment/gauges as well as mating parts to determine as found/as left conditions of product.\nAbility to work independently and in a team setting.\nMust possess good documentation skills to maintain neat and accurate records.\nAbility to work in a manufacturing and/or clean room environment.\nMust have good communication skills and be able to relay inspection results in a clear manner.\n\nWhat will you need to be successful?\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nMinimum 1 year of work experience in related field and/or inspecting product per inspection procedures/drawings and to print specifications utilizing attribute and variable measuring equipment/gauges is required.\nPredominantly documentation comparison and review.\nYou.
