Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Smiths employs approximately 16,000 colleagues in over 50 countries.\n The Distribution Business Development Engineer is responsible for growing the DIA (Distribution) channel business in the assigned district for a key account while providing technical and commercial support to customers, distributors, and sales teams. Responsibilities include identifying growth opportunities, recommending solutions, resolving technical issues, delivering training, and supporting customer relationships to drive revenue and market share growth.\nResponsibilities include but not limited to the following:\nWork with distribution partners to provide product recommendations based on customer applications, service requirements, and technical specifications.\nCollaborate with field sales representatives to ensure accurate and timely product selection. delivery.\nAssist customers and channel partners with troubleshooting technical issues and diagnosing product failures.\nWork closely with internal engineering teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions .\nProvide remote and on-site technical support for product installations, commissioning, and maintenance.\nDevelop and deliver training programs for customers, channel partners, and internal sales teams.\nProvide technical assistance to internal office operations, including order processing, customer inquiries, and documentation.\nCollaborate with internal engineering and drafting teams to ensure accurate and timely drawing submissions.\nProvide application and technical support to assigned sales representatives. \nResponsibilities include working closely with regional engineering. \n High school diploma required.\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred. \nMinimum 5 years’ experience with mechanical seals, rotating equipment and basic engineering principles.\nKnowledge of, work order variances, QAD, MFG-PRO, SAP, or equivalent.\nExperience closing deals using value added recommendations. \nModerate level of understanding of the financial aspects of a manufacturing operation.\nCapable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously in a high-stress environment.\nEffective training, leadership, facilitation, influencing, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.\nEffective written and verbal business communications.\nAbility to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.\nExperience working in a diverse environment with a global company is a plus.\nAbility to travel 50% of the time in Southeast United States including overnight travel.\nJob grade and compensation will be determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.\n All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nWe believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.
