Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Smiths employs approximately 16,000 colleagues in over 50 countries.\n We have an exciting opportunity for an Mechanical Engineer to join our Regional Engineering team supporting the Nordic region.\nReporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support and application engineering expertise across a portfolio of products, working closely with Sales, Service and Customer Operations teams. You will play a key role in helping customers solve technical challenges, identify the right solutions for their applications and deliver outstanding engineering support throughout the customer lifecycle.\nThis position offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of customers and technologies while contributing to product selection, troubleshooting, technical proposal development and engineering projects across the region.\nThe successful candidate will be a technically capable and commercially minded engineer who enjoys collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver practical solutions and exceptional service.\nDuties & Responsibilities (not limited to)\nProvide technical support, application engineering expertise and technical proposals across Wet Seals, Wet Seal Systems, Couplings and Filtration products.\nSupport Sales and Service teams with technical sales activities, customer presentations and solution development.\nInvestigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis and develop recommendations to resolve customer challenges.\nDeliver engineering support and applications to Service and Customer Operations teams across the assigned region.\nSupport customers through site visits, technical discussions and implementation activities where required.\nCollaborate with the Training and Enablement team to deliver technical training for customers and employees.\nSupport product selection activities and provide engineering guidance for Safematic products globally.\nWork closely with commercial, service, operations and engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met.\nContribute to engineering projects and application requests, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines.\nParticipate in technical reviews, project meetings and customer-facing engineering discussions.\n Degree qualified Engineer (BEng, MEng or equivalent).\nStrong understanding of engineering principles and application engineering methodologies.\nExperience supporting customers through technical troubleshooting and solution development.\nCommercial awareness with the ability to balance technical requirements and business objectives.\nProficiency with engineering and design software, including CAD and engineering simulation tools such as FEA and CFD.\nStrong Microsoft Office skills.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nSelf-motivated, proactive and capable of working independently.\nDemonstrates ownership, accountability and a continuous improvement mindset.\nEnglish language and preferably at least one of the Nordic languages\nWhat Success Looks Like\nDelivery of application engineering and project requests within agreed timescales.\nProvision of high-quality technical support that meets customer and business expectations.\nEffective collaboration with internal stakeholders and customers across the region.\nIdentification and implementation of practical engineering solutions that add value to customers and the business.\nConsistent contribution to regional engineering objectives and customer satisfaction.\n With colleagues stretching across the globe, we are proud of our diversity.
