This position focuses on the processing of accounts payable and staff accountant functions through the utilization of accounting software. Must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to investigate and resolve AP & Accounting issues as they arise. Compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data and payments to accounts payable. Compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data in the general ledger. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.\n Essential Duties and Responsibilities\nCompiles and prepares entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions\nAssist the Accountant with journal entries and entry into the Accounting software\nPerform labor transaction adjustments or other adjustments in the Accounting software\nDetermines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits\nMonitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures\nReviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports\nDevises and implements system for general accounting\nMakes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures\nAudits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment\nPrepares and mails accounts payable checks\nInvestigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills\nAnswers accounts payable inquiries and follows up\nAnalyzes vendor accounts\nPrepares analysis and summaries of accounts\nMonitors accounts payable to ensure payments are accurate and timely\nAssist in monthly and annual closings\nMust be able to do the following tasks associated with an AP function: auditing, coding, scheduling payments, preparing weekly vendor check runs, file maintenance and assisting various accounting functions\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.\nThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. \nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.\nConsistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time\nOther duties may be assigned as needed\n Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations\nBachelor’s Degree or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n Benefits\n401(k)\nMedical, Dental & Vision insurance\nEmployee assistance program (EAP)\nFlexible spending account (FSA)\nHealth savings account (HSA)\nPaid time off\nTuition Reimbursement\nWe believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.
