The successful candidate will proactively identify market opportunities, engage directly with customers, and develop innovative solutions through concept, design, testing, and validation.\nThis is a highly collaborative role suited to someone who combines technical excellence with commercial awareness, curiosity, and initiative.\nIn the role you will:\nDrive innovation and future technology initiatives within the Dry Gas Seals function.\nIdentify market trends and emerging customer needs to influence product development strategy.\nBuild relationships with customer engineering teams and engage in engineer-to-engineer and customer discussions.\nDevelop concepts and designs using SolidWorks.\nManage prototype development, including ordering components and supporting test builds.\nWork cross-functionally with:Procurement\nTesting teams\nMaterials teams\nCore technology groups\n\nSecure resources and coordinate testing activities to validate new concepts.\nSupport an agile development environment where experimentation and learning from failure are encouraged.\n Technical\nDegree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.\nStrong mechanical design experience.\nProficiency in SolidWorks.\nExperience in R&D, product development, or innovation-focused engineering roles.\nDemonstrable evidence of initiating and leading new ideas or technology developments.\nExperience taking concepts through design, prototyping, testing, and validation.\nIndustry Background\nIdeal candidates will come from one or more of the following areas:\nDry Gas Seals\nTurbomachinery\nRotating Equipment\nCompressors\nBearings\nFiltration Systems\nGearboxes\nWind Turbine Mechanical Systems\nPreferred Qualifications\nChartered Engineer status (CEng) or actively working towards it though not essential.\nMaster's degree or PhD beneficial, though not essential.\nDirect customer-facing engineering experience.\nExperience influencing product strategy through customer or market insights.\n With colleagues stretching across the globe, we are proud of our diversity.
