Acts as the primary contact for all communication between customer service and the production area impacting customer deliveries, product costs, shop schedules, inventory and efficiency.\nwill carry out the monitoring and analysis of the service portfolio, performing the review of the availability of the necessary materials, claims and follow-ups of materials\nSPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\nInitiates continuous and effective communications between Customer Service and the production area.\nInitiate work orders with appropriate lot sizes to ensure efficient and low cost production, timely delivery, and maintenance of adequate inventory levels.\nWorks with MRP messages to assure continuous flow.\nMonitor currently planned order execution via daily review of appropriate data printouts, and support established ship dates on all customer orders.\nMeets and exceeds area goals and objectives (accountable for area performance in Materials Management) - On Time Performance and Inventory goals.\nCoordinate the supply of materials and subcontract operations to meet production schedules.\nCoordinates contingency plans to achieve delivery promises when important deviations occur or properly adjusts due dates in the system and informs Customer Service of the changes.\nDetermines, recommends and provides for alternatives when demands exceed capacities.\nRecommends, implements, and documents new procedures and policies to improve the effectiveness of the operation.\nMaintain contact with and update customers through customer service representatives.\nProcess paperwork and maintain records as required.\nProvides various status reports as required.\nAnalysis of the service center portfolio\nExpediting and follow- up outstanding materials in service orders\nService order billing control\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:\n5 years’ experience in production planning.\nBachelor’s Degree in Materials Management and four years of planning, production and materials management experience, or equivalent.\nMust have experience in an MRP II environment.\nSAP Management\nStrong Microsoft Office Skills - Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.\nSix Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.\nFluent English spoken, written, and reading\nEHS REQUIREMENTS:\nComplete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.\nLifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.\nFollow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust be able to sit for extend periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.\nMust be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant\nMust be able to lift up to 20 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds.\nMust be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.\nMust have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.\nMust be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.\nMust be able to respond to visual and aural cues.\n ENTORNO DE TRABAJO\nEl entorno de trabajo se encuentra normalmente en una ubicación de Smiths durante el horario laboral habitual o ampliado e incluye oficinas, plantas de producción y centros de reparación.
