Our products are synonymous with quality and reliability.\n About the Role\nAre you a mechanically minded engineer who enjoys solving technical problems and working directly with customers?\nAs a Reliability Technician, you will help our customers improve the reliability and performance of their industrial equipment, with a focus on mechanical seals and associated systems. You will work closely with customer maintenance and engineering teams, providing hands-on technical support, investigating equipment failures, and recommending solutions to prevent recurring problems and reduce maintenance costs.\nCombining practical engineering expertise with customer collaboration, you will support maintenance activities, plant surveys, commissioning, and equipment upgrades. You will also help customers identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, optimize inventory, and achieve their reliability objectives.\nThe role involves daily work at our customer's site in Százhalombatta, with occasional visits to our John Crane office in Törökbálint.\nWhat You Will Do\nPerform maintenance activities and mechanical seal inspections at customer sites.\nTroubleshoot mechanical seal and rotating equipment problems, investigate failures, and identify root causes.\nSupport commissioning and start-up activities to prevent recurring equipment failures.\nConduct plant surveys, assess equipment performance, and document findings in ServiceMax.\nReview customer applications and recommend technical solutions to improve equipment reliability.\nImprove Mean Time Between Repairs (MTBR), reduce material costs, and optimize equipment performance.\nIdentify opportunities for equipment upgrades, modifications, and reliability improvements.\nDeliver classroom and hands-on training to customer personnel.\nSupport customers in developing seal standardization and inventory management programs.\nHelp optimize inventory levels, replenish stock, and reduce inventory discrepancies.\nCollaborate with engineering teams on seal and component design, material selection, technical proposals, layouts, and installation drawings.\nRecommend and implement improvements to technical standards and procedures for seal components.\nCollect and analyze field performance data and share technical feedback with John Crane teams.\nBuild strong customer relationships and collaborate with Customer Reliability Engineers (CREs), service teams, and sales representatives to achieve agreed reliability objectives.\n What We Are Looking For\nA degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.\nExperience with rotating equipment, mechanical seals, pumps, or similar industrial equipment.\nHands-on experience in maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, field service, or equipment reliability.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.\nA customer-oriented approach and confidence communicating technical information to customers and engineering professionals.\nThe ability to work independently at customer sites and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.\nGood organizational skills and accurate technical documentation.\nA proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and cost optimization.\nGood written and spoken English.\nExperience with ServiceMax or similar service management systems would be an advantage.\nWorking at John Crane\nYou will join an international engineering environment where technical expertise, equipment reliability, and customer partnerships are at the heart of what we do.
