This is a varied role that combines day-to-day technical support with involvement in infrastructure, networks, servers and business systems, offering an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems and making a real difference to the people they support.\nBased at our Duxford office, this is a fully site-based role and requires regular on-site attendance.\nAbout the Role\nWorking closely with the IS / IT Operations Manager, you'll help ensure our IT environment operates efficiently, securely and reliably. You'll be a key point of contact for users across the business, providing technical support while contributing to the ongoing development and maintenance of our IT infrastructure.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nProviding first and second-line support for desktop, laptop and business applications\nLogging, managing and resolving helpdesk tickets, escalating where required\nSupporting Active Directory administration and user account management\nAssisting with the management and maintenance of Windows Server environments\nSupporting LAN, WAN and network infrastructure across SMT GB locations\nManaging hardware deployment, troubleshooting and equipment support\nSupporting server backup solutions and disaster recovery processes\nWorking with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve issues\nAssisting with infrastructure, security and technology improvement projects\nMaintaining accurate system and procedural documentation\nAbout You\nYou'll be a technically capable IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting issues, supporting users and working across a broad range of technologies. You'll be comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a positive, customer-focused approach.\nWe're particularly interested in candidates who have:\nExperience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications\nKnowledge of Active Directory administration\nExperience working within Windows Server environments\nUnderstanding of LAN, WAN and wireless networking principles\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills\nStrong communication skills with the ability to support users at all levels\nA full UK driving licence\nIt would be advantageous if you also have experience with:\nMicrosoft Dynamics AX\nSharePoint administration and support\nSQL databases\nMCSE, MCP or equivalent Microsoft certifications\nTelephony or PBX systems\nWhat We Offer\nIn return, you'll join a supportive team within a well-established business where you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical skills across a broad range of systems and technologies.
