This is a senior technical role where you will act as a subject matter expert, supporting the effective maintenance, diagnosis and performance of Volvo construction equipment. You will play a key role in driving technical excellence across the depot, supporting both internal teams and customers with complex issues, while contributing to continuous improvement and service efficiency.\nYou will work closely with Customer Support Representatives, engineers and management teams, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach to technical problem solving and customer delivery.\nKey responsibilities\nYou will act as a technical expert within the business, supporting both customers and colleagues to maintain high service standards and machine performance.\nActing as the primary point of contact for complex technical queries and escalations\n\nDiagnosing and troubleshooting advanced mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults\n\nProviding on-site and remote technical support to engineers and customers\n\nDelivering technical training, coaching and guidance to develop team capability\n\nSupporting root cause analysis and implementing preventative solutions\n\nMonitoring equipment performance and identifying opportunities for improvement\n\nAssisting with the rollout of new technologies, systems and service processes\n\nCollaborating with wider business functions to drive service efficiency and customer satisfaction\n\nAbout you\nYou will be a highly skilled and experienced engineer with a strong technical background in heavy plant or construction equipment. You will be confident working independently as well as influencing and supporting others, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nYou will take a proactive approach to problem solving, with a strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement.\nFormal engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical or automotive)\n\nSignificant experience servicing and repairing heavy construction equipment (Volvo highly desirable)\n\nAdvanced diagnostic and fault-finding skills across hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems\n\nExperience supporting or mentoring engineers, sharing knowledge and best practice\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders\n\nProven ability to carry out root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions\n\nHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices\n\nIT literate, with confidence using diagnostic tools and systems\n\nFull UK driving licence\n\nWhy join us?\nAlongside a competitive salary, we offer a wide range of benefits designed to support your health, wellbeing, finances and career development.
