We are active in large parts of Africa, Belgium & Luxembourg, Great Britain, the Netherlands, and in US.\nJob Title: Workshop Engineer\nLocation: Duxford, Cambridgeshire\nContract: Full Time, Permanent\nAre you an experienced engineer with a passion for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining heavy plant equipment?\nWe're looking for a Workshop Engineer to join our team in Duxford, helping to ensure our customers' machinery operates safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.\nWorking within our workshop, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing Volvo Construction Equipment and associated machinery. You'll play a key role in delivering a first-class service by completing work accurately, safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.\nKey Responsibilities\nService, maintain and repair Volvo Construction Equipment and other machinery as required.\nCarry out repairs in line with quotations and agreed timescales, highlighting any additional work requirements.\nDiagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.\nComplete service inspection reports, oil sample reports and other required documentation accurately.\nRecord time and job information electronically in real time.\nOrder and manage parts required to complete repairs.\nEnsure software updates are installed as new versions become available.\nMaintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.\nAttend product and technical training to maintain and develop technical competence.\nWork in accordance with SMT GB's health, safety, quality and environmental standards.\nAbout You\nYou'll be a skilled and motivated engineer who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service. You will be capable of working independently while also supporting colleagues as part of a wider team.\nYou'll ideally have:\nA formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Mechanics or a related discipline.\nExperience repairing and maintaining heavy construction plant equipment.\nStrong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, driveline systems and electronics.\nExcellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.\nGood communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.\nBasic IT skills.\nA high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nA reliable, conscientious and professional approach to work.\nThe ability to understand and follow technical literature, service bulletins and parts manuals.\nDesirable\nWelding, fabrication and line boring experience.\nWhat We Offer At SMT GB, we believe in rewarding our people and providing the support they need to thrive both at work and outside of it.
