This role blends hands-on coding and prototyping with high-level system design, technical governance, and mentorship of cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for creating scalable reference architectures and ensuring the technical excellence of cloud-native solutions.\n\nFormulate scalable reference architectures using AWS core services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB) conforming to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.\nOversee or co-create modern front-end interfaces (React, Angular) and robust back-end APIs/microservices (Python, Node.js).\nDesign performant relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) data storage layers alongside event-driven data pipelines.\nAdvocate for and implement automated deployment pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).\nLead code reviews, troubleshoot complex system bottlenecks, and mentor full-stack engineering cohorts on development best practices.\nManage a project team developing AI apps\n\nRequired Skills & Experience \n8-10 years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years focused on cloud architecture and distributed application design.\nActive Secret security clearance.\nCompTIA Security+ certification.\nProficiency with front-end technologies such as React or Angular.\nProficiency with back-end languages such as Python or Node.js.\nHands-on experience with core AWS services including Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform) and CI/CD tools.\nDemonstrated ability to interface with customers and optimize internal and external communications, with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills\nProven organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, multi-task, and analyze project scopes to recommend improvements\nA detail-oriented self-starter and problem-solver, capable of working with minimal supervision to produce high-quality deliverables\n\nDesired Skills & Experience \nAWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or AWS Certified Developer.\nExperience supporting federal or DoD environments.\n\nThe SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
