Not right if you want a pure build role or an all-SAP world.\nThe mission: become the go-to SAP data expert for our Pune data teams and help clients move their trusted SAP data onto modern platforms.\nMission and Vision\n Snap Analytics is a data analytics and AI consultancy. We design and build modern data platforms for organisations across the UK, Europe and the US, and we specialise in SAP, Snowflake and Databricks.\nA lot of the world’s most trusted business data lives in SAP: finance, sales, procurement and supply chain. Too often it is locked inside ageing, expensive systems that are hard to use alongside everything else. We help clients get that data onto platforms where they can make faster decisions and run AI across SAP and non-SAP data together.\nWhen we succeed, our clients switch off costly legacy systems, their teams stop waiting on reports, and their SAP data becomes something they can build on rather than work around.\nStatus and Goals\nFounded in 2019, with around 175 people across offices in the UK, India and South Africa.\nOur SAP practice is growing. We are starting projects to stand up a new data platform on SAP Business Data Cloud and to migrate a client from SAP BW to Databricks.\nIn the next 6 to 12 months, we want to build our SAP data capability in India, so our Pune teams have SAP expertise on hand rather than relying on the UK.\nWhere we are still figuring things out: we have one SAP consultant in Pune today, so this person will help shape how SAP work runs there. Early client discovery and commercial conversations are led from the UK for now.\nHours and Location\nLocation: our central Pune office. You will need to live in or near Pune and have the right to work in India.\nWorking pattern: hybrid, following our Pune team’s standard office pattern of 3 days per week in the office, Monday and Tuesday being mandatory, and the 3rd day being flexible depending on yours and the teams needs.\nHours: 11:00 to 20:00 IST, the same as our Pune data engineering team. This gives a few hours’ overlap with our UK team each day. It is not a night shift.\nNon-negotiable: being in the office and online when the Pune team is, because a big part of this role is being there for them.\nTravel: potential client visits in Europe or elsewhere are possible, but they are the exception rather than a regular part of the job.\nRole Impact\n This role exists because our Pune data teams increasingly work on projects built on SAP data, and they need someone close by who knows SAP inside out and has kept up with where it is going. Today that knowledge mostly sits in the UK, and by the time a question reaches us it is often too late.\nYou will report to our India Head of Technology & Delivery in Pune and work closely with our SAP Head of Practice in the UK. Day to day, you will work with our Snowflake and Databricks engineers, the developers on your projects, and UK and European client teams.\nResponsibilities & Expectations\n What You WILL Do\nDesign and deliver SAP features and components within a project’s architecture, owning them from design to production. If bought in at Principal level (DOE), you will own the full SAP solution design.\nExtract SAP source data and rebuild it as analytics on a modern platform, sometimes inside SAP (Business Data Cloud, Datasphere) and sometimes as the SAP data expert on a Databricks or Snowflake build.\nLead the India-based developers on the SAP side of larger analytics projects, so they deliver with confidence.\nBe the person our Pune data teams come to early when SAP gets difficult, across all our accounts.\nSupport discovery led by our UK team, then grow into conversations with clients about their SAP roadmap and where we can help them further.\nCoach and develop people across our data platforms team, with line management as we grow an SAP team in India.\nWhat You Will NOT Do\nLead sales or initial client discovery from day one. Our UK team owns these for now, but spotting and growing opportunities with your clients is part of how you’d progress.\nOwn every architecture decision from day one at Senior level. You will own the design of the SAP features within an agreed architecture, with full solution design once at Principal level.\nWork only in SAP. A real share of your time will be spent helping build on non-SAP platforms.\nWork UK hours or a night shift. You will work the same hours as our Pune team.\n\nTimeline Expectations\nIn your first 30 days, you will...\n Get to know the Pune data platforms team and our UK SAP practice, learn how we deliver, and get up to speed on the projects you will join. You will start answering the SAP questions the team brings you.\nBy 3 months, you will...\n Likely have supported a UK-led discovery and helped turn it into a design the client signs off and be designing and delivering your first SAP features on a live project.\nBy 6 months, you will...\n Have delivered SAP features into production, led and coached India-based developers on the SAP side of a project, and become the person our Pune teams come to early. You will also have got hands-on with Databricks or Snowflake on live work, if you had not already.\nBy 12 months, you will...\n Hopefully be leading the SAP side of larger projects from Pune, having regular conversations with clients about their SAP roadmap, spotting where we can help them further, and helping shape how our SAP team in India grows.\nWhat You’ll Need to Succeed\n Skills and Experience | Essential\nStrong, hands-on SAP BW or BW/4HANA experience, including data modelling.\nA solid understanding of SAP as a source system (ECC or S/4HANA) and at least one functional area, such as Finance, Sales, Procurement or Supply Chain.\nA thorough understanding of SAP Datasphere and SAP Business Data Cloud. Delivery experience is great, but certification and structured self-study count too.\nYou have designed and delivered SAP features or components yourself, not only built to someone else’s design.\nExperience leading, mentoring or guiding a development team.\nClear written and spoken English, and the confidence to talk with clients about their SAP plans.\n\nSkills and Experience | Beneficial\nYou have delivered a Datasphere or BDC project end to end, ideally as lead consultant.\nYou have owned the solution design on a larger SAP analytics project or grown work with an existing client or played a real part in pre-sales. These are what we look for at our Principal level.\nTime on Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric or Azure. Awareness is enough.\nMigrating clients off SAP BW or BusinessObjects, integration tools such as Fivetran, SNP Glue, Theobald Xtract or SAP Data Services, or SAP Analytics Cloud or Power BI.\nRecent SAP Certifications in SAP Business Data Cloud, Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Hana Cloud\n\nIf you meet most of the essentials and the work excites you, please apply. Being with the Pune team matters here.\nCompensation\nSalary: Confirmed during the later stages of the process depending on the seniority banding you fall into.
