As a member of the Legal team, you’ll play a key role on Snap’s Litigation and Safety team. Snap’s Legal team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and manage risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. As a company, we continually strive to build an innovative and inclusive leadership culture centered on Snap's values of Kind, Smart, and Creative.\nThis is a hybrid in-office role under our “Default Together” policy with a preferred location of Santa Monica or San Francisco, California.\nWhat you’ll do:\nBe an active and strategic member of a team managing a diverse range of matters within Snap’s complex litigation docket across multiple jurisdictions\nPartner with in-house and outside counsel to manage cutting-edge cases, overseeing substantive work and be a key participant in strategic decision-making\nDive deep into substantive work on cutting-edge legal issues\nManage and contribute to individual litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions, including working with outside counsel, managing discovery, editing legal briefs, preparing witnesses, and negotiating settlements\nCollaborate across litigation teams and cross-functionally across Snap\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nHighly skilled in all aspects of litigation (e.g., brief-writing, legal strategy, discovery, deposition and trial preparation, expert witnesses); trial experience a plus\nExperience handling significant aspects of complex legal matters, including meaningfully contributing to strategic decisions\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal\nFacility with eDiscovery, including managing voluminous document productions in a cost-effective manner\nAbility to collaborate well with colleagues\nStrong organizational and case management skills\nSound judgment on legal and business issues\nCollaborative team player who can connect well with a broad range of people and knows how to provide solution-minded legal advice, cognizant of business objectives\nSelf-starter who is able to recognize and set priorities independently\nAble to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment\nMinimum qualifications:\nJ.D. degree from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials\nActive membership in at least one state bar in good standing\n6+ years of complex litigation experience in private practice\nPreferred qualifications:\nMember of California Bar or Member of the California Bar’s Registered In-house Counsel Program (current or immediately eligible)\nTrial experience is a plus\nIn-house experience is highly preferred. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
