The company develops Specs, advanced eyewear that seamlessly integrates digital experiences into the physical world.\nSpecs feature see-through lenses that place digital objects directly into three-dimensional space, powered by Snap OS, a proprietary, context-aware operating system designed for natural interaction with your hands and voice.\nSpecs Inc. also provides Lens Studio, a full suite of advanced developer tools that powers immersive augmented reality experiences across Specs, Snapchat, and other services.\nWe’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Spectacles team!\nWhat you’ll do:\nOwn schematic design, component selection and stackup definition for boards from concept to final deliverable\n\nDesign in complex SOCs, PMICs, Wireless ICs and sensors used in low-power consumer electronics\n\nSimulate and AC and DC power distribution networks and define impedance masks\n\nLead and contribute to technical design reviews\n\nSupervise and review layout for PCB, Flex, and Rigid Flex designs\n\nDebug hardware issues with cross-functional teams such as desense, power states, signal integrity, ESD and EMI\n\nAnalyze circuit parasitics and tolerances to ensure correct operation over the specified voltage and temperature range\n\nTest and validate all board level and systems level aspects of electrical designs\n\nCollaborate closely with mechanical, software, RF, thermal and industrial design teams\n\nAuthor clear and comprehensive electrical test documentation\n\nDevelop electronic prototypes for new product concepts\n\nSupport development builds onsite at external contract manufacturers\n\nTravel internationally up to 20%\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nStrong electrical engineering fundamentals and understanding of best practices\n\nExperience in electronic design, including component selection, schematic design, and familiarity with schematic capture and layout tools such as Cadence Allegro and OrCAD Capture\n\nProficiency in design of battery operated systems including chargers, fuel gauges and battery protection circuits\n\nExperience working with various communication interfaces such as USB, I2C/I3C, SPI, UART, MIPI, SWD and PCIE\n\nKnowledge of layout strategies and tradeoffs for linear and switching power supply circuits, EMI mitigation, high-speed signal integrity and power delivery networks\n\nExperience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, battery simulators, logic analyzers and thermal chambers\n\nGreat interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across groups through written, verbal and visual formats\n\nFamiliarity with lab instrumentation and PDN/SI simulation tools\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBS/BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience\n\n7+ years of experience in electrical or hardware engineering\n\nAbility to travel internationally 20% of the time.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience\n\nExperience defining integrated circuit design power delivery specifications such as impedance masks and DCR targets\n\nKnowledge of design and layout for low-noise linear and switching power supply circuits\n\nKnowledge of layout strategies for EMI minimization, signal integrity, and low noise\n\nFamiliarity with low power/battery operated designs\n\nGreat interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across groups\n\nExcellent process development and documentation skills\n\nA passion for Snapchat and creativity!\n\n\"Default Together\" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
