This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is on-site.\nThe Materials and Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material flow to support the manufacturing operations while optimizing inventory levels, supplier performance, and procurement costs. This role leads purchasing, materials planning, inventory control, and supplier management activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.\nResponsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\nPurchasing and Supplier Management\nDevelop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives\nSource, negotiate, and manage supplier agreements and contracts\nEvaluate supplier performance on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness\nLead supplier development and corrective action initiatives\nIdentify cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities\nMaterials Planning and Inventory Management\nEnsure material availability to support the production schedules\nManage the MRP/ERP planning processes and inventory accuracy\nEstablish inventory targets and monitor inventory turns\nReduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory\nCoordinate cycle counts and physical inventory activities\nSupervise the shipping and receiving activities\nOperations Support\nCollaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams\nSupport new product introductions and engineering change management\nResolve material shortages and supply chain disruptions\nDevelop contingency plans to mitigate supply risks\nTeam Leadership\nLead and develop purchasing and materials personnel\nEstablish department goals, KPI's, and performance metrics\nCoach team members and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement\nSupport succession planning and associate development\nReporting and Compliance\nMonitor purchasing spend and budget performance\nEnsure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures\nPrepare and present supply chain performance reports to leadership\nMaintain compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements\nQualifications\nQualifications\nEducation\nA Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field\nMBA or advanced degree is preferred\nExperience\n5 + years of purchasing, materials management or supply chain leadership experience\nManufacturing environment experience is required\nExperience managing suppliers and contract negotiations\nPrevious supervisory or management experience is preferred\nTechnical Skills\nStrong ERP/MRP systems experience (Infor LN, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.).\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis, including Power BI\nInventory management and demand planning experience\nUnderstanding of procurement and supply chain best practices\nLeadership Competencies\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nProven ability to lead cross-functional teams\nExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skills\nAbility to
