The People tech team is building the next generation AI powered HR software suite for Snap and looking to accelerate the deployment of these transformative full-stack software solutions. This role is for a hands-on technical developer who can translate product management ideas, stakeholder needs, and People Team priorities into clear product designs, technical specifications, prototypes, executable engineering plans, and consumer-grade solutions.\nThis person will code, architect, and build. They will also be responsible for reviewing PRs and test plans, writing technical design documents, building, testing and deploying brand new solutions.\nWhat you’ll do:\nTranslate product management ideas and business concepts into product designs, technical specifications, prototypes, and implementation plans.\nPartner across Product, People, HR Technology, IT, Security, Legal, Finance, and Engineering teams to understand requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions that support People Team products and services.\nContribute directly to the codebase, developing production code, reviewing pull requests, and resolving complex technical issues, building and testing solutions.\nArchitect scalable People Tech solutions that support internal tools, workflow automation, integrations, reporting, AI-enabled experiences, and operational processes.\nOwn the quality of technical design by writing, reviewing, and approving technical design documents and PRs.\nAdvocate for and apply best practices for availability, scalability, operational excellence, maintainability, cost management, and production support.\nWork closely with product and engineering teams to integrate AI, LLM, and chatbot solutions into People Tech systems where appropriate.\nDesign and develop middleware, APIs, services, and integrations across systems such as Slack, Workday, Jira, Confluence, internal People data services, and other enterprise platforms.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nExperience with backend services or distributed systems.\nExperience with database design and data modeling.\nExperience with event-driven architectures, including message queues, pub/sub systems, and asynchronous processing patterns.\nExperience designing and building RESTful APIs, webhooks, middleware, and integrations across multiple systems.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deploying services to cloud environments.\nStrong hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, and API integration patterns.\nExperience with Workday integrations, automations, and People data workflows.\nFamiliarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack, and other cloud-based services.\nAbility to translate ambiguous product or stakeholder requirements into product designs, technical specs, prototypes, and delivery plans.\nAbility to lead technical design for complex or cross-system initiatives.\nAbility to contribute directly to production code while also managing team delivery.\nStrong technical judgment and ability to make pragmatic architecture decisions.\nAbility to work independently without mature existing infrastructure or support.\nProven track record of building applications from scratch.\nAbility to evaluate and apply AI/LLM capabilities responsibly in internal tools, workflow automation, and employee-facing experiences.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.\n5+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, backend services, enterprise integrations, or related technical roles.\nExperience with Node.js, TypeScript, SQL, APIs, and cloud-based application development.\nExperience reviewing production code, technical designs, and test plans.\nExperience translating product requirements or ambiguous stakeholder needs into technical specifications and implementation plans.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n6+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, backend services, enterprise integrations, or related technical roles.\nExperience building People Tech, HR Technology, Workday, internal tools, workflow automation, or enterprise platform solutions.\nExperience with Spanner and GCP\nIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information.\n\"Default Together\" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration.
