The company develops Specs, advanced eyewear that seamlessly integrates digital experiences into the physical world.\nSpecs feature see-through lenses that place digital objects directly into three-dimensional space, powered by Snap OS, a proprietary, context-aware operating system designed for natural interaction with your hands and voice.\nSpecs Inc. also provides Lens Studio, a full suite of advanced developer tools that powers immersive augmented reality experiences across Specs, Snapchat, and other services.\nWe’re looking for a Desense Engineer to join the Spectacles team!\nWhat you’ll do:\nDevelop and implement innovative RF desense solutions (hardware and software) to ensure robust system performance\n\nCollaborate with RF, antenna, electrical, mechanical, and software teams to integrate RF systems into Spectacles products and ensure compliance with performance standards\n\nConduct rigorous lab and OTA testing of RF systems, perform sensitivity and coexistence testing (LTE, 5G, WiFi, GNSS, Bluetooth, etc.), and validate performance against industry standards\n\nCharacterize desense caused by internal aggressors (CPU, memory, power converters, displays, etc.) and external interferers. Trace root causes using probes, shielding tests, grounding checks, and layout reviews\n\nIdentify system performance bottlenecks (impacts) due to antenna, RF board, assembly dependencies, multi-radio operation, etc.\n\nDevelop and execute coexistence test plans and generate validation reports\n\nAuthor clear and comprehensive documentation\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nStrong RF, antenna, EMI, EMC, and coexistence engineering fundamentals\n\nKnowledge of wireless communication standards including WiFi, BT, BLE, GPS, 4G LTE, 5G, etc\n\nKnowledge of board level design strategies for desense and EMI minimization, signal integrity, and isolation.\n\nExperience working with systems that include high-speed digital interfaces such as MIPI CSI / DSI, PCIe, SDIO / eMMC, UFS, etc\n\nProven ability to use common RF and electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power supplies\n\nUnderstanding of RF PCB design, associated constraints, impedance matching, and filter tuning\n\nProficiency with RF simulation/design tools (e.g., CST Microwave Studio, Keysight ADS, XFdtd, etc.)\n\nExcellent process development and documentation skills\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in a related technical field such as electrical engineering, computer science, or physics or equivalent years of experience\n\nAbility to travel including domestic and international (up to 15%)\n\n10+ years of experience in electrical, RF, and/or computer engineering\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster’s or PhD in Wireless, Electromagnetics, Electrical engineering or related field\n\nKnowledge of ESD principles for consumer electronics\n\n\"Default Together\" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
