You'll build and operate the cloud services behind Specs. Your full-stack experience will help you build the web tools and portals our developers use every day.\nWhat you'll do:\nDesign, build, and operate full-stack cloud components and web applications on AWS and GCP that power Specs and the developer ecosystem for AR experiences at Snap.\nBuild the web-based developer console/portal and foundational services that external and internal developers use to build, manage, and deploy Lenses for Specs, prioritizing exceptional Developer Experience (DX) and intuitive frontend design.\nOwn services end-to-end in production, including SLOs, on-call rotations, capacity planning, and incident response, ensuring Specs experiences stay reliable globally.\nEngineer infrastructure with strong isolation, encryption, and access-control guarantees so security and privacy are built in by design - a critical bar for a wearable, always-on AR device.\nPartner with internal product and engineering teams across Specs to onboard them onto new platform capabilities and make sure those platforms meet their requirements.\nCollaborate with Security, Privacy, and Compliance partners to ensure infrastructure meets Snap's bar for data protection and regulatory obligations.\nHelp shape the longer-term technical direction of the Specs cloud platform.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBS/MS in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience\nHands-on experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems and cloud infrastructure at scale on AWS (e.g. EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, KMS)\nProficiency in Go, JavaScript/TypeScript\nProduction experience with full-stack web development (e.g., React, TypeScript, Node.js) alongside containerization and cloud tooling (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines)\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nStrong fundamentals in distributed systems, networking, and cloud architecture\nAbility to drive scope and deliver complex platform projects with minimal supervision\nStrong problem-solving skills and a bias for diving into end-to-end details\nFriendly, efficient, and proactive communicator who collaborates effectively across engineering, security, privacy, product, and design teams\nComfortable balancing the need to ship foundational capabilities quickly with the stability and operational maturity expected of platform infrastructure\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience operating workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in addition to AWS, and familiarity with multi-cloud and multi-region architectures\nHands-on experience building developer portals, web consoles, or self-serve developer tools with a strong emphasis on UX/DX and frontend design best practices\nFamiliarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and secrets / identity management\nExperience with confidential / secure compute environments, zero-trust architectures, or privacy-preserving systems\nWorking knowledge of C++, Java, Python\nExperience supporting consumer hardware, wearables, or AR/VR products from the cloud\nIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information.\n\"Default Together\" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration.
