Moving forward, our camera will play a transformative role in how people experience the world around them, combining what they see in the real world, with all that’s available to them in the digital world.\nWe’re looking for a Security Engineering Manager to lead our Detection & Response team here at Snap!\nWhat you’ll do:\nIdentify opportunities and assume direct ownership of multi-year, high-impact initiatives which scale our security monitoring efforts in a cost effective manner\n\nEnsure that security monitoring infrastructure, investigation tooling, and automation systems we build consistently demonstrate high technical quality and operational excellence\n\nMake judicious prioritization decisions that balance short term goals vs. long term security outcomes, team productivity, operational posture, and system health\n\nDirectly participate in D&R operations, investigate events generated by the alerting pipeline and triage potential incidents\n\nWork closely with multiple Snap Inc. teams during security incidents and drive response efforts\n\nAlign the team’s direction with the strategic goals of the organization and participate in quarterly/annual planning exercises\n\nFacilitate effective collaboration across different stakeholders, dependencies and cross-organizational partners\n\nInvest in your team members’ career growth, use effective performance management tools, and build mechanisms to delegate execution and ensure excellence\n\nRecruit high caliber engineers to your team and build an engaging, collaborative, and productive team which positively influences the culture of the broader organization\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nProven experience in one or more of the following detection and response areas: digital forensics, malware analysis, incident management, host/network intrusion detection, threat intelligence\n\nDevelopment skills in Python, Go, and/or Java\n\nAdvanced knowledge of operating system internals, and a core competency in two or more of the following: macOS, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field\n\n8+ years of post- bachelor’s industry experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ years of post-grad security experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 4 years of post-grad security experience\n\n1+ year(s) of experience as an Engineering Manager\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDemonstrated knowledge in threat hunting and developing logic to automate threat detection and incident response\n\nFamiliarity with cloud-based services and infrastructure (Google Cloud, Workspace, AWS, etc.)\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail\n\nPractical experience in a BeyondCorp model\n\nWork record of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company\n\nIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information.\n\"Default Together\" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration.
