We move fast, with precision, and always execute with privacy at the forefront.\nWe’re looking for a Security Engineer to join Snap Inc!\nWhat you’ll do:\nDesign, implement, and scale security controls across infrastructure, applications, identity, and cloud environments\n\nConduct in-depth security assessments, threat modeling, and code reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities\n\nBuild automation, tooling, and systems that improve security compliance, observability, and governance\n\nUtilize AI tools and high velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production ready quality code.\n\nPartner with product, engineering, and operations teams to harden systems and reduce risk from design through deployment\n\nInvestigate and respond to security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend remediation strategies\n\nHelp define and evolve security standards, practices, and documentation to elevate the organization’s overall security maturity \n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nStrong technical background in security engineering principles, secure system design, and threat mitigation techniques\n\nProficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks.\n\nAdaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices.\n\nExperience with security tooling including vulnerability scanners, SIEM, EDR, cloud security frameworks, and automation platforms\n\nProficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java)\n\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills\n\nSecurity advocacy skills: help others raise security awareness\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical work experience\n\n2+ years of post-Bachelor’s security related experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 1+ year of post-grad security related experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field\n\nExpertise in one of the following domains: infrastructure security, enterprise security, access management, application security, detection and response, or spam and abuse\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDemonstrated experience securing complex distributed systems and/or enterprise-scale infrastructure\n\nStrong programming and software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design\n\nStrong intellectual curiosity, self-motivated to keep up with the latest technology in the security domain\n\n\"Default Together\" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position.
