Snowflake is an American cloud data company founded in 2012 by former Oracle database architects and headquartered in Bozeman, Montana. Its platform separates storage from compute so organisations can scale query power independently of data volume, run workloads across Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud, and share live datasets with partners without copying them. Originally a cloud data warehouse, it has expanded into data engineering, application development with Snowpark and Native Apps, and AI features through Cortex, and it listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2020 in the largest software offering to that point.

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset - who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

The Account Engineer is a high-impact, cross-functional role designed to accelerate the customer journey from initial acquisition to successful platform adoption and expansion on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. You will contribute to this mission by driving initial utilization, leveraging modern AI-powered tools and coding agents to ensure technical success.

This role bridges the critical gap by helping new and early-stage customers achieve rapid implementation, quick value, and a world-class experience on the Snowflake platform. You will be the dedicated customer technical partner, responsible for driving technical enablement and supporting the overall activation and adoption of our customers initial use cases.

This is a fantastic opportunity for technical professionals to develop deep expertise in cloud data architecture, make a measurable impact on customer success, and contribute to one of the fastest-growing technology companies.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • The Account Engineer manages a critical portfolio of new and early-stage customers, and is accountable for accelerating their time-to-value and achieving sustained platform growth. Operating as a Full-Stack Technical Resource, this role blends deep hands-on expertise with the strategic acumen of a business leader.

  • Strategic Ownership and Value Creation

  • Lead Your Account Micro-Business: Take ownership of the technical success and consumption trajectory within your assigned portfolio, driving adoption metrics in your assigned accounts, acting as a single point of contact for all customer needs.

  • Driving Outcome-Based Utilization: Apply an outcome-based selling mindset to customer engagements, focusing on how the Snowflake AI Data Cloud helps them solve complex data challenges and unlock maximum business value-not just product features.

  • Strategic Advisory and Guidance: Serve as a trusted strategic advisor immediately following the initial contract close, providing guidance on data strategy, technology stack integration, and ensuring a swift, successful activation of Use Cases.

  • Deliver Technical Value with AI: Deliver technical value efficiently by leveraging cutting-edge AI-powered development tools and automation to accelerate solutions and implementation guidance, helping customers move faster to production.

  • Technical Execution and Collaboration

  • Architectural Leadership: Provide customers with critical, Snowflake-specific foundational guidance, including Architectural Best Practices, Workload Isolation & Warehouse Utilization, Resource Monitoring & Alerts, Budgeting, and RBAC/Security Setup.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the Account Team to highlight risks and establish and nurture trusted relationships with internal Snowflake teams (e.g., Professional Services, Support) and external partners to ensure seamless resource orchestration.

  • Develop Scalable Programs: Create and deliver reusable, high-impact programs, such as Hands-on Labs (HoLs) and webinars, to educate a wide customer audience on specific platform features and industry best practices.

  • Technical Feedback Loop & Innovation: Act as a key feedback loop from the field to influence future product development, working closely with Product Management and Engineering teams.

  • Expert Support and Triage: Efficiently triage a broad array of incoming customer inquiries, assisting the field team with demos, troubleshooting, and identifying opportunities to qualify potential business value for the Expansion team.

Required Qualifications

  • We are seeking highly skilled and motivated technical professionals eager to launch their next career chapter with us.

  • Must be fluent in English

  • Must be able/willing to travel to the US when needed for onboarding & training

  • Technical Aptitude: Hands-on experience with SQL is required.

  • Data & Cloud Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding and experience with data architecture, data analytics, and the core concepts of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Growth Mindset: A strong desire to learn, grow your technical skills, and become an expert in the Snowflake platform.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Professional Skills: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and possess Project Management skills to track, manage, and drive customers to an agreed-upon timeline.

  • Education: University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience in a technical role.

What Sets You Apart (Preferred Qualifications)

  • SnowPro Certification

  • Proficiency in additional coding languages, particularly Python, Java, or Scala, especially in a data or application development context.

  • Experience with modern data technologies (e.g., CI/CD tooling, orchestration tools) or a basic understanding of Data Science concepts.

  • Prior experience or strong interest in leveraging AI-powered development tools and coding agents to increase solution delivery efficiency.

Performance Assessment & Career Path

  • This role is designed as a direct path to a successful career within the Snowflake Solution Engineering organization.

  • Impact Metrics: Performance is primarily assessed on customer success and platform adoption metrics:

  • Consumption: Driving new customer consumption for the initial contract period.

  • Use Cases: Documented success of helping customers move Use Cases to Production.

  • Growth: Measured via customer retention and growth within the managed portfolio.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
