At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.\nSnowflake is seeking a Director, Technical Revenue Accounting to lead the company’s technical revenue accounting function and serve as the trusted advisor on complex accounting matters across the business. This strategic leadership role partners closely with Product, Legal,Deal Desk, Finance and Go-to-Market teams to enable new business models, structure customer agreements, and ensure compliance with ASC606 and other applicable accounting standards.\nThe ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with strong operational acumen, enabling them to translate complex accounting guidance into scalable policies, processes and systems while partnering effectively with cross-functionally stakeholders.\nAS THE DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL REVENUE ACCOUNTING YOU WILL:\nServe as the company's technical accounting authority for complex revenue transactions, providing accounting guidance that supports new products, strategic partnerships, and evolving commercial models.\n\nReview and assess complex customer contracts, including SaaS, professional services, managed services, multi-element arrangements, consumption-based pricing, and strategic partnerships.\n\nPartner closely with Legal, Deal Desk and Sales during negotiations for complex, nonstandard deals to translate dense accounting standards (ASC606 and other guidance) into clear, actionable commercial options.\n\nPrepare technical account memoranda supporting revenue conclusions. Research emerging accounting guidance and recommend policy updates.\n\nLead technical revenue accounting support for New Product Offerings (NPI), providing authoritative guidance on performance obligation identification, SSP evaluation, contract modifications and other ASC 606 considerations.\n\nAdvise executive leadership on revenue implications for strategic transactions. Translate complex technical accounting requirements into actionable business guidance for non-accounting stakeholders.\n\nSupport month-end close activities.\n\nDrive process improvement and revenue system implementation projects as needed. Identify opportunities to automate manual processes using AI.\n\nLead and develop a team of revenue accounting professionals; champion a culture of continuous learning, professional growth and career development across the team.\n\nJOB REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required\n\n10+ years of progressive experience, including a combination of public accounting and publicly traded SaaS or technology companies.\n\nDeep expertise in ASC 606 and technical accounting for complex software/SAAS business models.\n\nExperience working with consumption-based revenue models at scale is strongly preferred.\n\nProven experience partnering with Product, Pricing, Legal, GTM, and executive leadership to support new product launches and innovative commercial models.\n\nExcellent analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.\n\nExperience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing accounting teams.\n\nAbility to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, effective multitasking skills are vital.\n\nExperience with SFDC, Workday, and revenue accounting systems.\n\nPassion for technological and demonstrated interest in leveraging AI and automation to modernize financial operations.
