As part of Snowflake, Observe combines startup-style ownership and velocity with the global reach, operational excellence, and ecosystem of one of the world’s leading data platforms.\nThe Team:\nWe are hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Engineering Productivity for our Engineering team at Observe by Snowflake.\nAs part of Engineering Productivity at Observe by Snowflake, you will empower engineering teams across the organization by building scalable developer tools, robust build and test infrastructure, and automated release systems. Working at the intersection of developer experience, build systems, AI agent systems, and cloud infrastructure, you will play a critical role in driving engineering velocity and reliability at scale.\nIn this role your will:\nDesign, build, and maintain internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and AI agent based developer workflows\n\nBuild and scale test infrastructure and test execution frameworks to accelerate developer feedback loops\n\nImprove developer velocity, developer and agent environment tooling, as well as local debugging/testing workflows\n\nPartner with development, infrastructure, and SRE teams to streamline release engineering, deployment reliability, and artifact management\n\nMonitor and optimize build times, test flakiness, and CI performance across the engineering organization\n\nQualifications:\n5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on engineering productivity, developer tooling, agentic workflows, build systems, or release engineering\n\nProven experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems, build orchestration tools (e.g., Bazel, Nix, Go build tooling), and test automation infrastructure\n\nStrong proficiency in server-side languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++\n\nHands-on experience with containerization, cloud infrastructure, and release automation\n\nDeep interest in developer experience, developer velocity metrics, and building developer-facing products\n\nBonus Points:\nExperience in backend application development\n\nExperience with open-source developer tools, Kubernetes, or infrastructure-as-code\n\nExperience with observability platforms, telemetry pipelines, or distributed tracing and logging systems (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Jaeger)\n\nOpen-source contributions to observability, data infrastructure, or developer productivity projects\n\nSnowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth.
