This is reflected in our vision and mission, and strategy, which sets out our aspirations and commitments as our compass towards 2030.\nFor more information on SNV, please refer to our website: www.snv.org\nProject Description\nTUMAI MAJI (Transforming Utilities and Mobilising Action for Investment in ASAL Water Security) is a five-year (2027-2031), Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands-funded programme that tackles water insecurity in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) as a governance and systems challenge. Working across the Rift Valley Basin (Turkana and West Pokot) and the Ewaso Ng’iro North Basin (Samburu, Marsabit and Laikipia), the programme strengthens four interlinked systems: basin and water resource management (System A), water and sanitation services (System B), institutions and governance (System C), and finance and investment (System D). At its core is a Living Lab, where stakeholders test and refine solutions before scaling them. The programme promotes market-led change through improved utility performance, delegated management models, public-private partnerships, women- and youth-led enterprises, and an Innovation Challenge Fund, with gender equality and social inclusion, youth employment, climate resilience and conflict sensitivity embedded throughout. TUMAI MAJI is implemented as a consortium by SNV (System C and D lead), Rural Water Management Solutions (RWMS - System B lead) Kenya and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (System A lead), and is delivered with implementing partners alongside capacity-strengthening partners and the five county governments.\n SNV Kenya seeks to engage a driver to provide driving services for the various project sites. The driver will support project teams in fieldwork, logistics, and other operational needs. Assignments will be made on a need basis depending on field activities and workload.\nThe driver shall perform the following duties when engaged:\nProvide safe, timely, and professional transportation services for SNV staff, visitors, and consultants.\nDrive to project sites and field locations, often under different conditions and terrains, while ensuring the safety of all passengers.\nEnsure the assigned vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and well-maintained at all times.\nConduct routine checks and report any mechanical issues or damage promptly.\nVerify and maintain the validity of the vehicle’s insurance, inspection certificates, and other statutory documents.\nCarry out basic mechanical repairs, refuelling, and other routine servicing tasks as required.\nAccurately maintain the vehicle logbook/work ticket, recording daily mileage, fuel usage, and service history.\nAdhere to SNV policies and procedures as well as code of conduct.\nUndertake office errands, such as deliveries and pick-ups, when requested.\nReport any accidents, incidents, or violations involving the vehicle immediately to the relevant SNV staff.\nPerform any other driving or logistical duties as may be reasonably assigned by the supervisor.\nCompetencies\nAbility to take responsibility for one’s own actions\nAbility to adapt and work under pressure in changing circumstances and environments\nAbility to embrace and work within diverse teams and cultures\nSolutions oriented team player \n Basic Requirements:\nKCSE level of education, with a good command of English and Swahili\nClean driving licence with over 5 years driving experience\nBasic computer skills\nBasic mechanical skills\nDefensive driving an added advantage\nRegional experience is an added advantage\nReporting Lines\nThe driver will report to the County Coordinator with a dotted reporting line to Fleet and Protocol Officer.\n SNV offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
