Security stops being a queue of work waiting for people, and becomes a coordinated workforce companies direct and trust.\nJob Summary\nSnyk is hiring a Corporate Counsel to support our Sales, Partnerships, Procurement, and Product teams. You’ll negotiate a broad range of SaaS and partner deals, counsel on product launches, and help shape how an AI security company governs AI. Reporting directly into our Associate General Counsel managing Snyk’s AI governance, strategy, and new product releases, this role is an opportunity for novel work in a cutting-edge space. \nYou will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members from around the globe, including in Finance, GTM, Sales Operations, Product, Marketing, and Procurement. Our approach is pragmatic, customer-focused, and collaborative - your goal is to reduce friction and enable the business and its customers, while maintaining appropriate risk governance. \nIdeally, you bring drafting, commercial negotiation, and product counseling skills built in both private practice and in-house roles. However, if you haven’t done formal product counseling but bring strong commercial skills and real fluency with technology, we want to hear from you. Likewise, if you bring exceptional talent from solely private practice or in-house experience, please apply.\nWhat You'll Do:\nDrafting, reviewing, structuring, and closing a broad range of commercial and strategic agreements, including SaaS agreements, license agreements, DPAs, NDAs, complex enterprise customer agreements, and partner agreements.\n\nPartnering with Product and Engineering on new launches, including advising on relevant contract revisions, product disclosures, data flows, and customer-facing commitments.\n\nSupporting Snyk’s AI governance through the assessment of models (whether via direct providers or cloud marketplaces), third-party AI applications and tools, and homegrown solutions.\n\nAssisting with Legal efficiency initiatives, including efforts to develop, implement, and enhance processes and playbooks that improve transaction velocity without material increases in risk.\n\nProviding day-to-day legal advice to our sales, partnerships, and procurement teams.\n\nAssisting with data privacy matters.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring:\n4+ years experience in commercial and product counseling in the technology sector, with emphasis on time spent counseling B2B SaaS companies.\n\nExperience in drafting and advising clients on technology-related commercial agreements, including software licensing, strategic partnerships, reseller arrangements, and data processing agreements.\n\nHands-on experience with, or demonstrated fluency in, AI models and agentic tools.\n\nCuriosity about how our products work, and the conviction that establishing a foundational understanding of our products makes you a better commercial lawyer.\n\nStrong communication skills, especially translating legal concepts to non-lawyers in a clear and concise way.\n\nStrong problem-solving, organizational and project management skills.\n\nTo be a proactive, driven, adaptable, team-oriented person who can, with poise and patience, prioritize and balance multiple projects, path-find, and calibrate advice in view of shifting priorities, legal developments, and risk tolerance.\n\nAn appreciation for diversity in your day to day, from a fast NDA to a novel AI partnership.\n\nWe’d be Lucky if You Have Experience In:\nRelevant global privacy laws, including the GDPR and CCPA.\n\nOpen source software licensing and compliance.\n\nAI regulation, such as the EU AI Act and emerging US state laws.\n\nCybersecurity and/or developer tools.\n\nAbout Snyk\nSnyk is committed to creating an inclusive and engaging environment where our employees can thrive as we rally behind our common mission to make the digital world a safer place.
