This role is responsible for managing environmental investigations, remediation projects, client relationships, and multidisciplinary project teams while providing technical leadership and mentoring to staff.\nResponsibilities\nManage and conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).\nPlan, coordinate, and oversee soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.\nManage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations.\nServe as a primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.\nCoordinate and oversee field investigations, including drilling activities, logging borings, trenches, and cores.\nEvaluate geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental site conditions.\nConduct and oversee soil, soil gas, vapor, and groundwater sampling programs.\nPrepare technical reports, work plans, proposals, cost estimates, and regulatory submittals.\nInterface with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies regarding project requirements and compliance matters.\nProvide technical support, mentorship, and guidance to staff scientists, engineers, geologists, and field technicians.\nParticipate in business development activities and support the growth of the environmental practice.\nEnsure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.\n Required Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum of 5-10 years of environmental consulting experience.\nCurrent OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.\nProfessional licensure as a Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.\nExperience managing Phase I and Phase II environmental investigations and remediation projects.\nStrong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.\nExperience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and technical staff.\nStrong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.\nAbility to work independently while effectively leading project teams.\nProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced degree in Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline.\nExperience working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), Regional Water Quality Control Boards (RWQCBs), and local Environmental Health agencies.\nFamiliarity with California environmental regulations, remediation programs, and regulatory processes.\nExperience supporting construction-related environmental projects.\nLocal Southern California environmental consulting experience preferred.\nDemonstrated experience mentoring junior staff and supporting technical team development.\nStrong client management and relationship-building skills.\n Salary range:\nSenior Project Geologist/Engineer: $130,000-150,000/year\nProject Geologist/Engineer: $110,000-130,000/year\nYour information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nFor more information, please visit www.socotec.us\nJob Type: Full-Time;
