This role involves both field and office responsibilities, including geotechnical investigations, engineering analyses, construction observation, laboratory coordination, and report preparation.\nResponsibilities\nConduct geotechnical investigations and engineering analyses for commercial, residential, industrial, and public works projects.\nPlan and coordinate subsurface exploration programs, including boring layouts and utility clearance activities.\nOversee drilling operations and provide field direction to drill crews and subcontractors.\nClassify soils and geologic materials and prepare detailed logs of borings, test pits, and cores.\nPerform field observations, testing, and construction support services.\nConduct other site evaluations as required.\nReview project plans, specifications, and geotechnical data.\nCoordinate laboratory testing programs and evaluate test results.\nPerform geotechnical calculations and engineering analyses.\nPrepare geotechnical reports, technical memoranda, letters, and engineering recommendations.\nCollaborate with project managers, engineers, geologists, and field personnel to support successful project delivery.\n Required Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.\nPreferred 2 years of geotechnical engineering experience; experience with a geotechnical consulting firm preferred.\nUnderstanding of soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering principles, and subsurface investigation methods.\nExperience with field exploration, soil classification, geotechnical analyses, and report preparation.\nStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nPositive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline preferred.\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward professional licensure.\nFamiliarity with Southern Arizona geologic and geotechnical conditions.\n Your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nFor more information, please visit www.socotec.us\nJob Type: Full-Time;
