This is a hands-on role responsible for managing all aspects of materials handling, storage, and stock control to support our testing and build operations. You will ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaterials Management\nReceive, inspect, and record all incoming deliveries, verifying quantities and condition against purchase orders\nOrganise and store materials in designated locations to maximize space and accessibility\nLabel materials accurately according to project requirements to ensure complete traceability\nPrepare and stage materials for builds and testing operations, coordinating with technical teams on timing and specifications\nStock Control & Ordering\nMaintain accurate stock records through regular counts and reconciliations\nMonitor stock levels and raise purchase orders to replenish materials as required\nIdentify and report slow-moving, excess, or obsolete stock\nLiaise with suppliers and procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials\nOperations\nSafely operate a forklift to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse and yard\nEnsure all equipment is properly maintained and used in compliance with health and safety regulations\nManage the collection, sorting, and disposal of waste materials from test and build processes\nControl skip usage, ensuring correct waste segregation (general, recyclable, hazardous)\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\nMaintain a clean, safe, and orderly storage area in line with health and safety standards\nEnsure all disposal activities comply with environmental and safety regulations\nReport any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the relevant department\nValid Forklift license\nUK driving license\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)\nKnowledge of construction materials and processes\nPrevious experience in stores, warehouse, or materials management\n This role is integral to the smooth operation of our Fire Testing facility. You will work closely with our build and test teams to ensure materials are available when needed, while maintaining the highest standards of organization and safety.
