If you want to help build the future of identity with a team that holds a high bar for itself - keep reading.\n\nSocure is looking for a Software Engineer II - Backend to join our global engineering team.\nYou’ll design, build, and operate scalable backend services that power our identity verification and fraud prevention products. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Data Science/ML teams and take ownership of software from design through production.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, build, test, and operate backend services, APIs, and microservices.\n\nDevelop reliable, secure, and maintainable production software.\n\nWork on distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, messaging, and event-driven architectures.\n\nContribute to technical design and make thoughtful engineering trade-offs.\n\nTroubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and observability.\n\nParticipate in code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.\n\nCollaborate with globally distributed, cross-functional teams to solve customer and business problems.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nPractical software engineering experience building backend applications or services.\n\nStrong programming skills in Go, Java, Python, or a comparable backend language.\n\nGood understanding of data structures, algorithms, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems fundamentals.\n\nExperience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.\n\nUnderstanding of asynchronous processing, messaging, retries, fault tolerance, and service-to-service communication.\n\nFamiliarity with cloud-native technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka or equivalent technologies.\n\nUnderstanding of source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot technical problems methodically and take ownership of solutions through production.\n\nClear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.\n\nAdditional Information\nPermanent right to work in the UK is required; Socure does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.\n\nCandidates must be based in London or within a commutable distance, with the ability to attend the office as needed.\n\nSocure is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity in all its forms within our company.
