You will be responsible for driving service excellence, maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, and fostering strong client relationships while leading a high-performing team.\nAs a General Manager, Environmental Services (EVS), you will:\nEnvironmental Services Operations\nProvide leadership and oversight of Environmental Services (EVS) operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction.\nEnsure compliance with infection prevention and control (IPAC) requirements, accreditation standards, and client policies and procedures.\nLead quality assurance programs, audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain operational excellence.\nCollaborate with healthcare and research facility stakeholders to support operational and service objectives.\nMonitor operational performance and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.\nBusiness & Financial Acumen\nDevelop innovative business solutions to support operational effectiveness and continuous growth.\nBuild, manage, and analyze budgets and P&L statements.\nAchieve financial objectives through analysis of key performance indicators and operational metrics.\nIdentify opportunities for service enhancements, efficiencies, and business development.\nManage labour, supply, and operating costs while maintaining service excellence.\nClient Relationships & Contract Management\nBuild and maintain strong client relationships based on trust, partnership, and responsiveness.\nDevelop business strategies aligned with current and emerging client needs.\nEnsure contractual commitments, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance standards are achieved.\nConduct regular business reviews, compliance audits, and performance assessments.\nAct as the primary point of contact for client concerns, escalations, and strategic planning initiatives.\nPeople Leadership\nLead by example and foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.\nRecruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing teams.\nSupport the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning.\nMaintain positive employee and labour relations in a unionized environment where applicable.\nProvide effective workforce planning and daily operational oversight.\nCulture & Compliance\nFoster a strong health and safety culture for employees, clients, patients, and visitors.\nEnsure all operations comply with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and client standards.\nChampion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.\nDrive innovation and continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.\nEmbody Sodexo's values of Service Spirit, Spirit of Progress, and Team Spirit.\nWhat You’ll Need to Succeed:\n3-5 years of progressive management experience leading Environmental Services (EVS) operations within a healthcare, hospital, academic health centre, or research facility environment.\nExperience working within healthcare and/or research facilities is considered a strong asset.\nPost-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.\nDemonstrated experience leading large, diverse frontline teams in a fast-paced operational environment.\nStrong understanding of Environmental Services best practices, infection prevention and control (IPAC), quality assurance, and regulatory compliance standards.\nProven leadership skills with the ability to build, coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.\nExperience managing budgets, labour costs, productivity metrics, and operational performance.\nStrong financial acumen with the ability to analyze and interpret financial and commercial information.\nExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and operational partners.\nStrong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and operational management systems.\nExperience working within a unionized environment is preferred\nWhat Makes Sodexo Different:\nWorking with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater because we believe our everyday actions have a big impact.
