Start your journey with Sodexo, as we continue to grow across Canada!\nJob Description\nMaintenance Worker - Casual/Part-Time\nThe Maintenance Worker is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Manager and Facilities team in maintaining Luxstone Seniors Living's building, grounds, and common areas to a high standard. This role plays a key part in keeping our 107-suite independent living community safe, comfortable, and well maintained for the residents who call it home.\nMaintenance & Repairs\n· Performs general building repairs, preventive maintenance, and minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work\n· Responds promptly and courteously to resident maintenance requests\n· Completes and documents work orders accurately and in a timely manner\n· Maintains common areas, mechanical rooms, and building exteriors\n· Supports grounds and parking lot upkeep, including seasonal work such as snow and ice removal\n· Assists with light housekeeping or environmental services tasks as needed\nResident and Customer Satisfaction\n· Ensures maintenance requests are addressed in a timely manner as expected by residents and management\n· Listens and responds to resident concerns with patience and professionalism\n· Maintains a respectful, genuine manner when working around seniors and within their living spaces\nHealth and Safety\n· Performs all work according to safe work practices that pertain to the job/task, following SOPs and using the proper equipment for any task\n· Actively participates in Sodexo's Health and Safety program by undergoing safety training/education\n· Follows all site-specific safety protocols, including WHMIS\n· Ensures that all required equipment and protective devices are used in the correct manner\n· Participates in scheduled on-call or after-hours coverage as required\n· Reports incidents, accidents, or hazardous conditions promptly to the Maintenance Manager\nQualifications\n· Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade is an asset\n· Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and general repair techniques\n· Comfortable using hand and power tools, and climbing ladders as needed\n· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods\n· Valid driver's licence is an asset\n· Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check\nSchedule and Compensation\n· Casual/part-time hours, with flexibility to cover shifts including occasional evenings and weekends\nQualifications\n· 1-2+ years of maintenance, facilities, or related trade experience an asset\n· High school diploma required; trades ticket or certificate an asset\n· Basic computer skills for logging work orders and email communication\n· Familiarity with CMMS/work order systems an asset\n· Ability to work independently and as part of a team\n· Ability to work to high standards, policies, and procedures\n· Strong communication skills and a strong spirit of service\n· Comfortable engaging with residents, families, and staff in a respectful, patient manner\n· Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following a safety culture\n· Effective planning, organizing, and time management skills\n· Ability to anticipate and solve problems\nAdditional information\nWhat Sodexo Can Offer You:\nFlexible work environment \nCompetitive compensation & great employee benefits \nTraining and development programs \nCountless opportunities for growth \nCorporate responsibility & sustainability \nCanada’s Top Employers for Young People 2019 \nCanada’s Best Employers by Forbes 2019 \nDiversity Inc.
