In this role, you will be an active participant in the Team’s sourcing, evaluation and execution of acquisitions, strategic investments, and partnership opportunities across all of SoFi’s business units to help the company achieve its ambitious goals. This role offers the opportunity to develop and refine financial modeling skills, learn key M&A processes, and gain exposure to cross-functional projects, all while being mentored by experienced team members.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nWork closely with Corporate Development team, executive leadership, and business unit leads across SoFi to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions aligned with the company’s growth ambitions\nReceive regular feedback and direction from the Corporate Development leadership team to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives\nTransaction Evaluation & Execution\nAssist the Corporate Development team throughout all aspects of a transaction, including during each of the following stages: sourcing, qualification, initial rationale and pitch, financial modeling and valuation, due diligence, closing and integration activities for acquisitions and strategic investments\nSupport the development of investment memos, presentations, and recommendations for the Team to present to executive leadership and the Board\nFinancial Modeling & Valuation\nContribute to and build detailed financial models including bottoms-up long term financial projections, and valuation analyses (e.g. discounted cash flow, comparative companies, sum-of-the parts, returns models) to forecast targets’ performance under various scenarios\nBuild pro forma financial models including pro forma income statements and balance sheets, as well as evaluate and determine accretion / dilution analysis and purchase price accounting implications\nDue Diligence Process\nCollaborate with internal teams to gather information needed for due diligence, ensuring data is collected accurately and in a timely manner\nContribute to the overall evaluation of the potential target or partner \nSynthesize and communicate initial findings including risks and considerations to the rest of the Team to support the formation of risk-mitigation strategies\nMarket & Competitive Analysis\nExplore and research potential new partners or targets, as well as potential industry disruptions, from variety of sources\nStay apprised of broader industry developments such as competitive landscape and changing technologies\nStakeholder Coordination\nBegin to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including target companies, industry experts, investment banks, and advisors\nStrategic Initiatives and Special Projects\nSupport ad-hoc projects across the organization, such as evaluating new business lines, product expansions, international market entries, divestitures or expense management initiatives \nPrepare and present high-level updates and analyses to Corporate Development team and senior leadership, facilitating data-driven decision-making\nShow up as a positive culture carrier aligned with our values, driving inclusiveness, belonging and mentorship within and outside of Corporate Development\nWhat You’ll Need:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field\nExperience: 2+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, venture capital, strategic finance, or a corporate development function\nAnalytical & Technical Skills:\nStrong analytical skills, experience performing financial, valuation and quantitative data analyses, and familiarity with accounting & key operational metrics\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint\nAdvanced proficiency in Google Docs/Sheets/Slides\n Project Management & Collaboration: \nStrong project management skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive projects (such as in a deal execution environment)\nCollaborative working style with demonstrated ability to build strong inter-team and cross-functional relationships\nStrong organizational skills -
