Join us to invest in yourself, your career, and the financial world.\nThe role\nSoFi’s best-in-class in-house creative studio looking for a Design Systems Designer to help build, evolve, and maintain the design systems that support our marketing website. In this role, you’ll contribute to scalable foundations, components, patterns, and guidelines that enable teams to create cohesive, accessible, and high-quality web experiences.\nYou’ll collaborate with Interactive Design, Brand, Product Design, Engineering, Product Marketing, Content, and Creative partners. While your primary focus will be the design system, you’ll also design landing pages when needed and create custom icons that expand and strengthen our visual language.\nThe ideal candidate is systems-minded, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing consistency with creativity.\nWhat you’ll do:\nContribute to the development and maintenance of our marketing web design system, including foundations, components, modules, patterns, and templates.\nDesign flexible, scalable solutions that support a range of products, audiences, and marketing needs.\nCreate clear design specifications, usage guidance, and documentation for system assets.\nPartner with Engineering to ensure designs are feasible, accessible, responsive, and implemented accurately.\nCollaborate with Brand and Creative partners to translate the visual identity into a cohesive web experience.\nDesign and refine landing pages when needed, applying existing system principles while identifying opportunities to improve or expand the system.\nExplore new layouts, visual treatments, and interaction patterns that support user and business goals.\nCreate and maintain custom icons for our website and broader icon library.\nParticipate in design audits to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.\nApply accessibility, responsive design, and interaction principles to your work.\nContribute to design system governance, maintenance, and ongoing improvements.\nPresent work, participate in critiques, and communicate design rationale to partners and stakeholders.\nIncorporate feedback thoughtfully and follow through on design updates with a high level of attention to detail.\nWhat you’ll need:\n4+ years of experience in digital, web, product, or brand design.\nExperience building a design system.\nA portfolio demonstrating strong web design, visual design, and systems thinking.\nExperience designing responsive marketing websites and landing pages.\nUnderstanding of design system principles, including tokens, components, variants, states, patterns, and templates.\nSystems thinker: Sees patterns across components, modules, tokens, and page experiences; knows when to create, consolidate, or extend a solution.\nExperience collaborating with engineers and working within technical constraints.\nStrong visual design skills, including layout, typography, color, composition, and hierarchy.\nExperience creating or maintaining icon libraries, or a strong interest in developing iconography skills.\nFamiliarity with accessibility and inclusive design principles.\nStrong Figma skills, including components, variables, styles, libraries, and prototyping.\nClear communication and strong collaboration skills.\nHigh attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions, incorporate feedback, and improve the work.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.\nNice to have:\nExperience working on financial services, fintech, technology, or other highly regulated websites.\nExperience supporting large-scale marketing websites with many products, pages, and content types.\nFamiliarity with HTML, CSS, responsive behavior, and front-end development constraints.\nExperience with motion, interaction design, or micro-interactions.\nExperience working within a brand redesign or evolving visual identity.\nComfortable incorporating AI tools, including Cursor, into their workflow to support exploration, documentation, prototyping, and system maintenance. \nCompensation and Benefits\nThe base pay range for this role is listed below.
