The Payroll Specialist works within the Payroll Team preparing, processing and balancing the entire U.S. payroll. This position will handle employee inquiries, and work with the Finance and HR departments to ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with statutory regulations. By joining SoFi, you're joining a new kind of finance company based around speed, transparency, and alignment with our members’ interests. \nWhat you'll do:\nProcess regular and off-cycle payrolls (bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly) for assigned employee populations\nEnsure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, and retroactive pay\nReview and reconcile payroll reports prior to submission to ensure compliance and accuracy\nValidate timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies in coordination with managers and HR\nProcess manual checks as needed for terminations, bonuses and lost checks\nAssist with payroll audits and respond to agency inquiries\nResponsible for complying with local, state and federal payroll regulations\nRespond to employee inquiries concerning payroll ensuring high customer satisfaction\nPerforms periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external or internal auditors\nIdentify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy\nDocument payroll procedures and maintain internal controls\nSupport compliance with SOX or internal audit requirements\nProvides support for special projects assigned by the Payroll Manager\nWhat you'll need:\n3+ years’ experience processing payroll\nKnowledge of Workday systems desired\nProficiency in Gmail and Microsoft Office Suite is essential with intermediate or advance Excel skills\nExcellent customer service skills with an ability to effectively handle and resolve employee inquiries and issues.\nSolid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws including payroll taxes, withholding, deductions and garnishments\nMust exhibit strong personal integrity and be capable of working with sensitive information and keeping sensitive information confidential.\nAbility to meet project deadlines and prioritize tasks with focus on results and accuracy of the payroll.\nAbility to function in a highly collaborative environment\nAttention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure\nOrganizational, Multi-Tasking and Prioritization skills\nExemplary Communication skills\nExperience using a ticketing system such as ServiceNow or Jira\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe base pay range for this role is listed below.
