We move forward with ambition but stay grounded in a culture where people support each other and take pride in what they build.\nAs our platform continues to grow, secure identity and access across our products and services is becoming increasingly important.\nFrom our office in Ghent, we’re looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer - IAM & Keycloak who combines strong backend engineering skills with hands-on experience in Identity & Access Management and application security.\nYou’ll help evolve the IAM foundation of the Miles platform while continuing to build and improve secure, scalable Java backend components used across our international product ecosystem.\nWhat you’ll do...\nDesign, build and maintain Java backend services and platform components supporting authentication, authorization and identity management across the Miles ecosystem.\nIntegrate and customise Keycloak and implement secure identity flows using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML.\nDesign secure integrations between microservices, applications and customer environments, with a strong focus on authentication, authorization and access control.\nAct as a senior technical contributor in IAM and security discussions, translating business and security requirements into robust backend solutions.\nWork closely with engineers, Product Owners and customers to improve our IAM architecture, engineering standards and security practices.\nWhat you bring...\nStrong senior-level Java backend engineering experience, including enterprise applications, microservices and modern Java frameworks.\nHands-on experience with Keycloak or a comparable IAM platform, combined with solid knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML.\nStrong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, access control and secure service-to-service communication.\nExperience designing and integrating backend services in distributed or microservices-based architectures, including REST APIs and relational databases.\nExperience with, or a genuine interest in, AI-assisted software engineering.
