Rather than acting as a chatbot or a dashboard, it performs real analytical reasoning, runs investigations overnight without supervision, and answers in plain language. \nAbout the role \nSOFICO Intelligence is looking for strong engineers to help build the next generation of back-office intelligence. You'll design and build the agentic AI systems behind Velona: Go-based microservices that orchestrate LLM reasoning, autonomous agents, and real-time data in a cloud-native, big-data environment. This is not maintenance work on a legacy system. It is greenfield engineering on a production AI platform, alongside engineers who have shipped at scale for years. \nYou'll have real room to own your work, with a team ready to support you. Come help us build it. \nWhat you'll do (about 85% of the role): \nDesign and build the agentic AI systems behind Velona: LLM-orchestration loops, autonomous and supervisor-coordinated agents, and the tools they call to reason over fleet data. \nDevelop high-scale, user- and business-facing backend services in Go, with Python and JavaScript across the stack, designed for performance and reliability. \nBuild and integrate tools and agents that execute analytical reasoning over a multi-year proprietary fleet-data asset, with strict multi-tenant isolation. \nEngineer real-time, streaming experiences (WebSocket) and the autonomous background pipelines that run overnight analysis at scale. \nDesign and consume RESTful and event-driven internal APIs; build robust, observable, cost-aware services. \nResearch new models, frameworks, and techniques, and bring ideas for technical and process improvements to the team. \nParticipate fully in continuous code review. The whole team owns quality for the whole project. \nWork closely with QA/SDET and DevOps so your code moves smoothly through evaluation, testing, and deployment, and take ownership of it after it reaches production. \nThe remaining ~15%, breadth across the platform: \nContribute to the broader SOFICO Intelligence platform and, where it intersects, the wider SOFICO engineering environment, helping connect the AI layer to the systems and data it relies on. \nHelp raise engineering standards consistently across the combined group. \nWhy this role matters \nReal AI work. You are curious about AI and want to build systems that reason. \nRequired qualifications \nA portfolio that clearly demonstrates your coding proficiency, eye for quality, understanding of security, and attention to performance (e.g. GitHub profile, public projects, or blog). \nBachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. \n5+ years of professional experience in software development and architecture. \nComfortable across multiple languages (Go, JavaScript, Python, Java, C++, etc.). \nExperience building web/backend applications proven in production to scale horizontally. \nA preference for clean, modular, well-tested code. \nExperience with RESTful API principles and a working knowledge of common authentication/authorization practices. \nExperience with relational and NoSQL databases in production. \nPreferred qualifications: \nHands-on experience with Go, Node.js, and/or Python. \nInterest or experience in LLMs, agents, or AI systems, such as building with model APIs, tool-calling, orchestration, or retrieval. \nDocker and container orchestration (Kubernetes). \nEvent-bus architectures such as AMQP (RabbitMQ) or Kafka. \nData stores and warehouses such as Cassandra, DynamoDB, BigQuery, or Databricks. \nFrontend frameworks such as Vue.js, React, Ember, or Angular. \nFamiliarity with enterprise back-office or ERP environments, including Java back-ends and relational databases (Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres), is a plus for cross-platform work. \nWhat you'll work with \nAI & data platform: a production multi-agent AI system built on Go microservices, LLM orchestration, and a multi-year proprietary fleet-data asset. \nLanguages: Go primarily, with Python and JavaScript across the stack. \nData & infrastructure: PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Databricks, Docker, and Kubernetes. \nAPIs: RESTful and real-time WebSocket / streaming interfaces. \nWays of working: true Agile, continuous code review, and frequent releases to production with strong CI/CD. \nBenefits & how we work \nWe have operated as a remote-first team for years and have a long track record of running productive, professional remote teams.
