This role ensures that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tissue paper converting operations, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.\nJob Responsibilities\nOversee the day-to-day converting operations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.\nFully involved in the operational setup and implementation of a new converting facility in Duluth, with a focus solely on operations and staff development.\nMonitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, waste reduction, and machine efficiency.\nEnsure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.\nLead, train, and develop the converting team to achieve operational excellence and promote a culture of continuous improvement.\nManage staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production, troubleshooting, and maintenance.\nProvide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and identify opportunities for employee development.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, and quality control, to drive operational efficiency.\nUtilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to streamline processes and improve production output.\nWork closely with the quality assurance team to identify and address any quality issues promptly.\nJob Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).\nMinimum of 5+ years of experience in tissue paper converting operations or a related manufacturing environment.\nProven experience in managing teams and production lines in a high-volume manufacturing facility.\nStrong knowledge of converting equipment and processes specific to tissue paper manufacturing.\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.\nStrong problem-solving abilities and a focus on results.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with manufacturing software systems (e.g., SAP or other ERP systems).\nCompany Benefits\nCompetitive compensation with opportunities for growth.\nComprehensive benefits package including health, vision, dental, a 401(k) match, short term disability and paid time off.\nProfessional training and development programs to support career advancement.\nA dynamic work environment within a global industry leader.\nWork Environment\nPersonal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests, harness and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season.
