{"id":3030540,"url":"https://alion.io/job/sofina-foods-learning-and-development-specialist","title":"Learning and Development Specialist","company":{"id":2342949,"name":"Sofina Foods","domain":"sofinafoods.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/sofinafoods","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Dayforce","truth_index":null},"role":"HR","role_family":"HR","seniority":null,"employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Markham, Canada"],"countries":["CA"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":38000,"max_usd":90000,"period":"year","method":"role_country_seniority_unknown","sample_n":537},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Material Design","optional":false},{"name":"Microsoft Excel","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-21T04:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-21","last_verified_at":"2026-10-25T16:18:26Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":4,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":4},"description":"Job Summary: \n\nReporting to the Manager, People & Culture, the Learning and Development Specialist will focus primarily on Learning Management System implementation and management, employee engagement, talent management, and general Human Resources activities as they align to the enhancement of our culture and people at Sofina.\n\nKey Responsibilities: \nAssist in the implementation of Sofina’s new Alchemy Learning Management System.\nDesign, develop and implement role specific training.\nPlay a key role in the execution of projects related to the development of people and culture, targeting employee training, experience, and engagement.\nProvide analysis and trends as it relates to employee data specifically on training completion, recruitment, turnover, and engagement.\nAssist HR Generalist in the performing of exit interviews.\nSupport evolution and execution of employee Onboarding and Orientation.\nPartner with Field HR team on engagement initiatives.\nProduce data reports on turnover, demographics, learning and development activities.\nUtilize employee survey portal, educate managers on its use and available tools to drive effectiveness.\nSupport and attend job fairs with universities and colleges to promote the company.\nProvide support to Operations human resources team regarding talent acquisition systems, processes and vendors.\nCollaborating with other Human Resources members on special projects.\nPartnering with the business to manage Talent Management Cycle activities.\nCollaborate with team on completion and debriefing of behavioural assessments.\nCoordinate and support culture initiatives as required including Sofina Leadership Summit, People Day activities, etc.\nFamiliarity with Synthesia, Meta Compliance and other AI development tools is an asset.\n\nRequirements: \nBachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or a related discipline preferred.\n3 – 5 years of corporate HR and related Training and Development experience.\nPrevious experience in T&D material design and delivery using multiple applications.\nStrong working knowledge of LMS systems and ground up implementation.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills to work with employees and external contacts at all levels, demonstrating strong influencing and negotiating skills.\nPrior working knowledge of HCM/HRIS - experience with Ceridian Dayforce is preferred.\nArticulate Storyline/360 and AI tools a plus.\nMust possess experience with office automation tools.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database software.\nAbility to travel within the GTA and Nationally.\nFamiliarity of 360 tools and methodologies.\nBi-lingual in French an asset.\n\nJob Posting Range:\nHiring Range: CAD $56,523 - $75,458\nBonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 7% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions.\nPlease note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina.
