You will bring a quality-focused perspective to planning, delivery, and technical decision-making.\nThis is a hands-on leadership role. You will support and develop the QA team, establish consistent quality practices, improve testing effectiveness and automation, and provide clear visibility of quality risks across the organisation.\nYour responsibilities\nLead, coach, and develop a distributed team of Quality Automation Engineers, creating a high-performing culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nSet priorities, manage performance, provide regular feedback, and support individual development and career growth.\nOwn and evolve the QE strategy across new and existing products, integrations, enhancements, and emerging AI capabilities.\nDefine and track quality metrics to measure testing effectiveness, product quality, and release confidence.\nDrive a quality-first culture across Engineering by promoting best practices in testing and automation. \nDefine and implement quality-focused processes across Product and Engineering that ensure requirements, acceptance criteria, and testability are reviewed and validated early in the development lifecycle.\nEstablish quality gates and release readiness criteria that support predictable, high-quality product delivery.\nAssess current test coverage and drive initiatives to expand coverage across critical business and customer workflows.\nBalance automated, exploratory, and manual testing approaches to maximise effectiveness and quality outcomes.\nEvaluate and adopt AI-assisted testing capabilities where they provide measurable value, ensuring appropriate validation and oversight of results.\nHelp define how quality is assessed for AI functionality as SoftCo continues to expand its AI offerings.\nUse customer feedback, production incidents, and defect trends to identify quality gaps and drive improvements.\nWhat success looks like\nYou will quickly build an understanding of the team, the product and current delivery commitments. You will establish a clear view of the most important quality risks, take ownership of the QE strategy and make practical improvements to our processes. You will lead initiatives to define how AI-driven functionality is evaluated and identify opportunities to responsibly adopt AI within testing practices.\nWorking at SoftCo\nYou will join a collaborative Product and Engineering organisation working on software that customers rely on for essential finance processes. Our structure gives you real ownership and direct exposure to senior leadership, with progression based on capability rather than hierarchy.\nYour profile\nExperience leading, managing and developing a QA team within a SaaS environment, including coaching engineers and managing performance.\nExperience defining and implementing quality strategies that improve product quality and delivery outcomes. \nStrong understanding of manual, automated, API, integration and end-to-end testing, with hands-on test automation experience using tools including Microsoft Playwright, Rest-Assured, JUnit5, Allure Reporting and Maven.\nExperience working with CI/CD platforms, including Azure DevOps, and in cloud-based environments, preferably AWS.\nExperience testing business-critical software where reliability, accuracy, auditability, and customer-specific workflows are essential.\nExperience working across distributed teams, building cross-functional relationships and influencing Product and Engineering colleagues through clear communication, evidence and collaboration.\nA genuine interest in how AI is changing software delivery and testing and exposure to testing AI-enabled functionality, agentic workflows, or systems that incorporate LLM-based capabilities.\nExperience with finance software, accounts payable, procurement processes, or ERP integrations would be advantageous.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive remuneration and performance-based bonus\n\nCompany-paid health insurance, pension and life assurance\n\nHybrid Working Model (3 days per week in office following onboarding period)\n\nOn-site gym with company-funded fitness classes (Dublin office)\n\nLong service incentive awards and employee referral programme\n\nStructured learning and development investment\n\nOur structure gives you real ownership and direct exposure to senior leadership.
