As we continue to expand, we’re building a team of exceptional people who share our ambition to transform the future of global payments.\n\nKey Responsibilities\r\nTechnical Leadership\n\nDesign, build, and maintain highly scalable and reliable systems, ensuring they align with company goals and technical standards.\n\nDefine, communicate, and enforce coding standards, design principles, and development methodologies across teams.\n\nDrive architectural decisions and work closely with stakeholders to align on technical strategies and roadmaps.\n\nProject Ownership\n\nLead complex projects from conception through delivery, coordinating with engineering, product, and design teams.\n\nIdentify technical challenges, propose solutions, and proactively mitigate risks to ensure timely delivery.\n\nOwn end-to-end performance, security, and reliability of systems and applications.\n\nMentorship and Collaboration\n\nMentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.\n\nProvide constructive feedback during code reviews, helping to improve the overall quality of the codebase.\n\nCollaborate with other engineers and departments to ensure seamless integration of new features and technologies.\n\nContinuous Improvement\n\nIdentify and implement best practices, tools, and processes to increase team efficiency, code quality, and system performance.\n\nConduct root cause analysis of issues and drive long-term improvements.\n\nStay updated on emerging technologies, bringing innovative solutions and ideas to the team.\n\nStakeholder Engagement\n\nAct as a bridge between engineering teams and other departments, communicating complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.\n\nParticipate in technical discussions with senior leadership and contribute to strategic decision-making.\n\nGather and address feedback from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n10+ years of software development experience, with a strong background in large-scale systems and application architecture.\n\nProven experience in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript - our stack is based on Python, Flask, Fast API, AWS etc.\n\nDeep understanding of software design patterns, architecture, and best practices.\n\nExperience with cloud technologies, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.\n\nKnowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automation.\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience in a Tech Lead or Staff Engineer role.\n\nFamiliarity with modern frontend frameworks and data engineering best practices.\n\nPlease note, candidates will need to have the right to work in the jurisdiction that they are looking to work in.\n\nSokin is an equal opportunities employer and committed to maintaining an inclusive work environment.
